Oppo Android

Introduction

Meet one of the best smartphones in the world, which also happens to be one of the hardest ones to buy - the Oppo Find X6 Pro. The next generation Find flagship introduces an exquisite design, the most premium OLED panel, the fastest available chip, 100W fast charging, and a trio of premium 50MP cameras with the largest of sensors and with Hasselblad Color Calibration. The caveat is it's only available in China.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is the ultimate smartphone package, going by its specs at least. The phone's design combines Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Gorilla Glass 5 or eco-leather; there is a metal frame and a special metal ring around the camera island. Oh, and the whole thing is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

The 6.82-inch OLED screen uses a 1440p LTPO3 panel of 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and Dolby Vision support. This screen is capable of 1,500 nits of maximum and up to 2,500 nits of peak brightness. This latest generation LTPO should allow for flexible refresh rate adaptiveness and reduce the strain on the battery life.

Oppo Find X6 Pro review

The Find X6 Pro is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and there is a lot of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, too. The phone also comes with a large 5,000 mAh battery and seriously fast wired (100W) and wireless (50W) charging support.

But nowadays, the cameras are usually the most intriguing aspect of a high-end smartphone, and that's also the case with the Find X6 Pro. There are three 50MP cameras on its back - a 1.0" primary, one of the very few on the market. The ultrawide and the telephoto cameras rely on large 1/1.56" sensors. Oppo says its periscope tele lens has the best stabilization on the market, too.

There is a lot more to talk about, so let's quickly scroll through the specs and get down to business.

Oppo Find X6 Pro specs at a glance:

  • Body: 164.8x76.2x9.1mm, 216g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus 2), glass back (Gorilla Glass 5) or eco-leather back, aluminum frame; IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 min).
  • Display: 6.82" LTPO3 AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 800 nits (typ), 1500 nits (HBM), 2500 nits (peak), 1440x3168px resolution, 19.8:9 aspect ratio, 510ppi.
  • Chipset: Qualcomm SM8550-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm): Octa-core (1x3.2 GHz Cortex-X3 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A715 & 2x2.8 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3x2.0 GHz Cortex-A510); Adreno 740.
  • Memory: 256GB 12GB RAM, 256GB 16GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM; UFS 4.0.
  • OS/Software: Android 13, ColorOS 13.1.
  • Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.8, 23mm, 1.0"-type, 1.6µm, multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF, OIS; Telephoto: 50 MP, f/2.6, 65mm, 1/1.56", 1.0µm, 2.8x optical zoom, multi-directional PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 110˚, 1/1.56", 1.0µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS.
  • Front camera: 32 MP, f/2.4, 21mm (wide), 1/2.74", 0.8µm, PDAF.
  • Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps; gyro-EIS; HDR, 10‑bit video, Dolby Vision; Front camera: 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS.
  • Battery: 5000mAh; 100W wired, PD, 45% in 10 min, 100% in 30 min (advertised), 50W wireless, 50% in 22 min, 100% in 51 min (advertised), 10W reverse wireless.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); Infrared port; stereo speakers.

Well, the only thing that's not as flagship-grade is the selfie camera. An average 32MP front camera that's limited to 1080p video capturing seems out of place on this device.

Unboxing the Oppo Find X6 Pro

The Find X6 Pro ships inside a black paper box, which contains a 100W SuperVOOC charger and a USB-A-to-C 10A-rated cable.

But that's not all. The bundle also contains a case that copies the phone's back - it has the same split design with a top gray part and a bottom one made of brown eco-leather. The case's top part is made of plastic (the phone's is glass), but we still appreciate these extra steps, and we are glad that many users will get to keep the iconic design even when they are using a case.

By the way, the Black and Green models, which have all-glass rear panels, also come with matching black/green plastic cases with the same matt finish.

Three months of nightmare. Google Chrome has to be reloaded every day because it crashes and doesn't work. The volume keys are on the left, not the right side. You have to open the case every time you change the volume. The biggest horror is the...
