Because saving $10 on a $1000 tablet is important. This is why I don't respect Samsung and other manufacturers these days. Functionality is most important, not stupid looks and form details that don't matter.

In IT security is most effective when LAYERED. This follows metaphorically from layered armor. So no, a non-waterproof phone or tablet in a rugged case is NOT the same as a rugged-design IP67 tablet, so get a clue.
