We kick off the 2025 Xiaomi review season with the Poco X7, which is shaping up to be a solid mid-range offer.
The Poco lineup has recently been completely integrated into Xiaomi's portfolio. Even Poco's website no longer operates independently, bringing all Xiaomi phones under one roof. With this move, we expected to see unification and simplification of Xiaomi's product portfolio, but that is yet to happen because, just like last year, there is very little to differentiate the Poco X7 from its cousin, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.
In fact, the Indian Poco X7 is an identical twin to the Indian Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, with both phones touting the same specs and even the same prices. This does not apply entirely to the global models, as there are more differences between the global Poco and Redmi devices.
Today, we are reviewing the global model of the Poco X7 (with a 5110mAh battery) instead of the Indian model with a 5500mAh battery. Aside from that, the two devices are mostly identical so you may find our review conclusions valid even if you are reading this from India.
Xiaomi Poco X7 • Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G (India)
The Poco X7 we got for review has a rather bold design with Poco's signature yellow and black colorways across the vegan leather back panel. Among the novelties here are the IP68 rating (IP69 even in India), the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen glass, the newer chipset, and the new and improved main camera.
The X7 packs the same CrystalRes AMOLED screen as the Poco X6 - a 6.67-inch panel with 1,220p resolution, 12-bit color depth, Dolby Vision and HDR10 support.
The biggest update must be in the performance department, courtesy of the Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset. It should offer improved CPU and GPU performance, and the 12GB LPDDR4X RAM will surely come in handy.
Poco phones have never been about high-end camera experience, and the X7 does not change this. The primary camera now uses a 50MP IMX882 Sony sensor, but it's still paired with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera resolution has been upgraded from 16MP to 20MP, for what that's worth.
The battery capacity is 5,110mAh, just like before, but the charging speed has been oddly lowered to 45W.
The Poco X7 seems like a great all-round mid-range with thoughtfully picked features, and we cannot think of any obvious omissions by looking at its specs sheet.
The Poco X7 comes in a large black box filled with goodies. There is a 45W charger, a USB-A-C cable, and even a soft black case.
The Poco X7 also has a thin protective film applied in the factory.
I didn't actually want to buy this, but I broke my only phone. so only this phone fit my budget and my needs. I get it for rm850 ($200) from shopee. I actually surprised the phone quality and feel at this price point. I got the silver colou...
Thereis version of same phone with sd-card and proximity sensor. It called ... Realme 13+.
