Raky, 24 Nov 2022Actually, it is the only category where they have earned money.
No one wants 1000€ XiaomiExpensive products bring much more money than cheap products.
This is why you do not see a $200 iphone. They would sell larger volume, but make much less money.

Spanky, 24 Nov 2022The fact that they were so slow to adopt the Snapdragon 7G1 didn't help. I was looking fo... moreit's a business tactics..they kept better SoC on purpose. remember dimensity 1200? they advertise to bring very budget under 300$ device but now they skipped it
Well, I can share my point of view.
I was recommending Xiaomi phones to all that needed cheap and good phones.
Redmi phones was best choice up to 200-250€.
I would never buy or recommend to someone to pay more than 500€ for Xiaomi.
I wouldn't take any Xiaomi device even if they would pay 500€ to me.... because of MIUI and adds that are "included in the price".
And now... Xiaomi almost don't have anything to sell under that amount of money....so I just can't recommend it anymore.
Why would one give 1000€ for Xiaomi device (,that wil lost 60% of it's value after a year), when for that money there are apple and Samsung devices, that will hold its value much better!?
So, no surprise that sales goes south....

LOL, do your research before answering. Don't know your friends, but things aren't that bad, at least in the northern regions.
Well their biggest selling range has always been the Redmi Note series and the Note 11 series was garbage and/or overpriced and the Note 12 series isn't going to do any better either. Disappointing SOCs and no micro SD support

you add a genius screen on the back that i want! - but you get a bad and hot chipset.
Then you get a great chipset, but you remove the back screen and you completely forget about image processing.
Huawei knew how to do it back then and exploded! Vivo seems to get the hang of it, but Xiaomi just doesn't.

Anonymous, 24 Nov 2022Yeah just got android 13 on my A52. Works well.It is worth noting that no XIaomi flagship has yet received the Android 13 update, and will not at least until January 2023
Anonymous, 24 Nov 2022Xiaomi is slowly realizing sub-$300 phones are not worth from financial point of view. are you sure about that? More sales and profits are from midrange smartphones. And who in their right mind will buy Xiaomi flagship? You get worse software, you get worse photo and video quality than other top brands, you get less software updates than Samsung, and the most disturbing thing is that even the Xiaomi flagships have more defective units than BBK and Samsung, check about Mi 11.
The fact that they were so slow to adopt the Snapdragon 7G1 didn't help. I was looking forward to a Xiaomi model with this SoC, but that was half a year ago. By the time they will launch a global model with that chip (probably the Xiaomi 13 Lite), the 7 Gen 2 will be just around the corner. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 8200 is coming soon, making the 7G1 even less attractive.
They should also release updates a tad faster, especially for new OS versions.

rizki1, 24 Nov 20222nd in Europe pretty good, Imagine if Xiaomi went to the US. If banned, I hope China does too.Not gonna happen
1) in USA, no OEM will ever succed selling unlocked phones ( Apple would obviously)
2) xiaomi is not popular in rich nations. Their popularity is eastern Europe, mainly Russia. their marketshare of phones above $600 is pretty irrelevant. Even BBK has more success within this range ($600-1400)
