Meizu Pro 6 Plus returns to the Pro series roots and brings back the big 5.7" screen estate. But there is more - the Samsung-made AMOLED screen is now of Quad HD resolution, this combination is a first for Meizu. The screen is also 3D Press-enabled and it will show context menu when you long press on app icons.
The pixel arrangement is Diamond PenTile, but nobody will be able to tell that because of the high 515ppi density.
The color rendition provided by the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is good, but not perfect, just like it was with the Pro 5. The base colors (red, green, blue), especially the red one, are oversaturated and thus make for an average DeltaE of 6.2 and a peak of 13.6 of the red channel. Playing with the color temperature slider in Settings doesn't improve the color accuracy, but you can get less-bluish whites by going towards an overall Warmer rendering. Still, an average of 6.2 is not bad at all, and we know many users will appreciate the punchy colors.
Meizu promises 430nits of typical brightness for the Pro 6 Plus and our measurements confirm that. We actually measured a maximum brightness of 450nits. Oddly, the AMOLED backlight doesn't turn off completely even when it shows black content unlike Samsung displays. The contrast ratio is still insanely high but it's not infinite.

Battery life
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus has 840mAh higher battery capacity compared to the Pro 6 - for a total of 3,400 mAh. It supports QuickCharge 2.0 (50% in 30 mins) and the Pro 6 Plus comes with a bundled 24W fast charging plug.
We ran our battery test, and it posted very good results owing to the generous battery capacity and the energy efficient 14nm chipset.
The smartphone did great across all of our tests, including standby. The 3G talk time could have been better, but 16 hours is still enough by our books.
The rating of 96 hours is excellent - it means you can use the Pro 6 Plus for four full days if you are to make an hour of 3G talks, web browsing and video playback each day. The usage pattern we use to calculate the Endurance rating may not apply to your own use of the device, but it ensures that our battery results are comparable across devices.
The battery testing procedure is described in detail in case you're interested in the nitty-gritties. You can also check out our complete battery test table, where you can see how all of the smartphones we've tested will compare under your own typical use.
Connectivity
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus supports LTE Cat.6 connectivity, and you can tap to an LTE network on either SIM, but the other will default to a GSM band. The supported LTE bands by our review unit include LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500). Unfortunately, VoLTE is available only on the Chinese model and won't make it to the intentional one. This means VoLTE for India is a no-go.
The rest of the wireless connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac support and Wi-Fi Direct. There is also support for Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS and GLONASS. Wireless screen mirroring is available via the Miracast protocol.
Oddly, NFC isn't available yet on the international model, but Meizu promises to enable it via an upcoming firmware update. It seems that's the same case as the heart-rate sensor - its support is also coming with an update.
The Pro 6 Plus supports USB Type-C and fast charging. If you have a proper USB OTG adapter, you can attach peripherals and thumb drives.
