It's time for the second Oppo Reno upgrade for the year, following the usual biannual upgrade cycle that the company has maintained for years now. So far, we've only heard some rumors and seen some teasers, but now Oppo has officially confirmed on Weibo that the Reno17 series will launch in China on November 9.
Oppo Reno17 and Reno17 Pro
Additionally, the company said the device will be available in stores on that date, so customers can have an in-person experience.
The company already launched blind pre-orders for the Reno17 and Reno17 Pro and rumors so far suggest a substantial upgrade over the previous generation. We expect the Reno17 to come with an 8,000 mAh battery, while the Pro will settle for a smaller 7,200 mAh unit since it's a smaller device. Moreover, both devices are tipped to feature a 200MP camera on the back, likely as a main shooter. A separate report says Oppo has changed the design and it might be compatible with the Hasselblad teleconverter kit that came out with the Find X10 series last month.
While only the Chinese launch is confirmed, we expect the Reno17 to also arrive globally by the time for the holiday season.
