realme Android Announcement

Back in January, the Realme P4 Power made a splash with its 10,001mAh battery. Since then, there have been multiple P4 models that offered various combinations of battery capacity, chipset performance, camera and display quality. Now there is a brand new member.

The Realme P4R has an 8,000mAh battery, the second largest in the series after the P4 Power. It is a Si/C battery with relatively fast 45W charging (including with PPS). Realme advertises that on a single charge, the P4R can last up to 12 hours of gaming, up to 61 hours of calls or up to 169 hours of music playback.

However, the P4R is closer to the P4 Lite in terms of performance – in fact, the two phones are very similar. They have 6.8” IPS LCDs with a 144Hz refresh rate and only 720p+ resolution. They are powered by the Dimensity 6300 with 4GB of RAM by default and 6GB as an upgrade.

There’s a microSD slot for additional storage – the P4R comes with 128GB or 256GB built-in. Crucially, this is faster UFS 2.2 storage, while the Lite model only has eMMC chips.

There are a few upgrades, e.g. the larger battery (the Lite has a 7,000mAh battery) and the water resistance that has gone up to IP65 (from IP64). Also, the new phone has been drop-tested from 1.8m. And there is an RGB notification light on the back.

The cameras may be the second biggest upgrade with a 50MP main and an 8MP selfie camera. It may not sound like much, but it’s much better than the 13MP main and 5MP selfie on the Lite – and remember that this is an affordable model.

There are three color options: Silver Glare, Lavender Glare and Titanium Glare. Open sales will start on June 17.

With just 4GB of RAM, that phone will play World of Lagcraft quite well, unless it came with Android Go and even that's not guarante, and as other Realme budget phones, these 144 Hz will be just in some apps as the calculator.

Agreed, and this is exactly why I refuse to replace my Nokia 8. I'm pretty sure there are others who use phones weaker specifications that have a 16:9 display due to not liking taller displays, and it feels much needed compared to these Wingtech...
