The Motorola Edge 60 looks a lot like the recent Edge models and that's a very good thing. The signature Motorola design has become somewhat of a synonym for a stylish no-nonsense design with a unique touch only Motorola and Pantone can give you.
Edge 60 Pro and Edge 60
The Edge 60 is a thin smartphone with a quad-curved glass front and plastic frame. It is IP68-rated for dust and water protection, and complies with a few MIL-STD-810H standards for shock, humidity, temperature, and altitude amplitudes. Edge 50 was the first to take the extra mile, and Edge 60 naturally follows. But the Edge 60 also adds an IP69 rating for some extra resistance to pressurized water jets.
The front is a Gorilla Glass 7i curved sheet, the frame is made of brushed plastic, and the back is also plastic but with a different finish depending on the colorway. See, our green (Shamrock) model feels like eco leather, the blue (Gibraltar Sea) imitates textile, and the limited Plum Perfect imitates sandpaper.
We are fans of the Pantone series, so we do like the new models. And yet, we can imagine the non-mainstream colors may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Now, let's look at the Edge 60 up close.
The front is occupied by the 6.67-inch OLED screen of 1,220p resolution. It is covered with a curved Gorilla Glass 7i piece and has nicely thin bezels. There is a small perforation to accommodate the 50MP selfie camera.
The Edge 60 biometric security relies on an optical fingerprint sensor under the display, which is fast and reliable.
The earpiece above the screen pulls a double duty as a stereo speaker.
The back panel of the Edge 60 is super smooth and easy on the eyes for its seamless design. It gradually envelopes the cameras, without visible borders, which makes for a cool transition.
Unlike the Edge 60 Pro, the vanilla 60 doesn't have an AI key on the left, leaving only the volume and power/lock keys on the right.
The bottom is where you'd see one of the mics, the other stereo speaker, the USB-C port, and the hybrid SIM/microSD slot. eSIM is supported on the Edge 60.
The Edge 60 measures 161.2 x 73.1 x 7.9 and weighs 179grams, which can be considered thin and lightweight for a 6.7-incher.
The Edge 60 is smudge-resistant thanks to its textured back and matte frame, it provides a secure grip, and solid build quality. Overall, we have nothing but positive impressions from the Edge 60.
