Indian smartphone brand Karbonn has officially made a comeback in the country's smartphone market with the launch of its new Rebel series, which comprises the Rebel and Rebel Pro. The 4G phones will be available to purchase online in India starting November 4.
The Karbonn Rebel is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset and features a 6.75-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The rear panel features a large horizontal camera island with three cutouts.
However, Karbonn has only confirmed a 50MP primary rear camera, suggesting that the other two cutouts may be decorative. We also have no details about its front camera, but there is one.
It packs a 7,000mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging. It runs Android 16 and is promised to receive two years of OS and security updates. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and an IP64 rating.
The phone starts at INR 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and is available in Blue, Gold, and Silver colour options.
The Karbonn Rebel Pro is also powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset but features a 6.7-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate.
At the back, it sports a vertically aligned camera module with three cutouts. Once again, Karbonn has only confirmed a 64MP primary rear camera. The phone also gets a 16MP front-facing camera.
The Rebel Pro packs a smaller 6,000mAh battery but supports faster 20W wired charging. It also runs stock Android 16 and is promised to receive two years of OS and security updates. It gets an IP64 rating, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
The handset is priced at INR 12,499 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration and will be available in Cherry Red, Blue, Gold, and Gray colour options.
Android 16 and 2 years of support? In a few months time, this thing basically just becomes a brick of e-waste in your pocket
