ZTE is unveiling a new nubia device on April 6

ZTE Android nubia

The nubia Z17 mini didn't get unveiled last week despite many rumors claiming it would be the star of the March 21 event for ZTE's sub-brand. On that occasion, the Chinese company outed the nubia M2, M2 Lite, and N2 instead.

However the nubia Z17 mini could still be in the works. Today ZTE sent out invites for yet another nubia event, this one taking place on April 6. The image accompanying the invite (which you can see on the left) has a design that strongly hints at a dual rear camera system for the handset that will become official next month.

Yesterday exactly such a phone got certified for sale in China by TENAA, and yes, it has a dual rear camera. This smartphone, bearing the model number NX569J, may be the nubia Z17 mini. It has a full metal construction and a fingerprint scanner on the back.

It comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor, and 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of expandable storage and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Powering it up is a 2,930 mAh battery. It will be offered in silver and gold. Its dimensions are 146 x 72.14 x 8.1 mm, and it weighs 160g.

No ZTE isn't. Nubia Mobile was a subsidiary of ZTE Mobile Corporation. It announced the formation of Nubian technology co., LTD on June 9, 2015. Nubia is no longer a ZTE company.
