Xiaomi Redmi Pad - user opinions and reviews

Hello everyone
Bought the 128/6GB version in Turkey. Here is my experience:
Pros:
- Dolby Atmos sound is very good and loud.
- 220PPI Screen is good enough. Texts and pictures are sharp enough. No pixellation so far I have seen. I like reading my journals and books.
- Can play videos 60fps up to 1440p and 30fps up to 2160p (depending on codecs)
- 400 Nit sreen brightness is adequate in indoors
- With Hyper OS (Android 14) you can add 2GB, 4GB or 6GB Virtual Ram
- Charging speed is good.
- Wifi signals are good. Didn't face any drops so far.
- Screen Cast is availiabe. You can mirror your screen to any TV. Very good when watching movies.
- Helio G99 is enough to run almost all apps. Some heavy games might be laggy but no problem for me since I use it for everday usage.
Cons:
- Default launcher lags a bit. Sometimes it crashes when switching between apps.
- Widget can't be scaled. This is very annoying.
- Some apps can't be installed. This is also interesting. Apps which I installed on my Samsung tablet can't be installed on this tablet. It says it is not supported for this tablet. I have to download the apk file and install it manually. Also annoying.
- Because of above problems I had to install Microsoft Launcher which is much better in my opinion.(still can't install some app but interface is much better and widget can be scaled)
This tablet is actually good for its price. I ilke the screen and use it for my everyday works. I hope Xiaomi will solve above mentioned problems soon.

Jimi, 03 Mar 2024Someone says hyper os drain battery performance after the update I also noticed that HyperOS kind of drain the battery. And I feel that the control centre is a bit ugly and icons in it are a bit larger than usual. I don't quite like the control centre design. I prefer MIUI's control centre.
Overall, I like MIUI than HyperOS.

I have recently UpDated to HyperOS. It's running
- fantastic,
- animations are good
- seems as responsive as earlier
-LockScreen is awesome, I have selected lockscreen to show rain shower and sun-rise & set widget. It's really helpful for me.
-ISSUEs --
- battery seems a little hit. Draining a little higher than earlier.
- my SSD isn't detected by Redmi Pad. However, working fine with Redmi K50i, iPad and Laptop.
- No option to select old control centre as that one also shows how much data is used for Today in notification panel
- Mi canvas provides a limited page to draw, not like unlimited canvas for showing creativity like Apple Freeform app.
Overall, few hits along with few misses.
I believe Xiaomi will read my comment here and fixes few issues we users are facing.

Pleasant experience with HyperOS so far .. On 3gb ram, the home screen reload less now compared to miui, 4k video playback is watchable. Performance is optimised.
HyperOS bring android 14 with Jan 2024 security update on global version.

Xiaomi doesn't give HyperOS update for this tablet anymore. Yes, the update was available a few weeks ago. I planned to update it. But at that time, my tablet didn't have much space available. So, I thought I'd do it later. Then, I kind of forgot in the middle. Today, a few hours ago, I was going to do it, but HyperOS update was gone. Xiaomi gave it for a limited time or what happened?

Best tab to date.
Better than my previous iPad Air 4. Battery was somehow gave me a day however RedmiPad result lasts a day and half.
However, I wish Xiaomi provide us 3.5mm jack
