A yet to be released Redmi-series phone from Xiaomi appeared on the FCC database. The Redmi 2303CRA44A from the listing is believed to be the upcoming Redmi Note 12S and we can see it will have an identical design to last year’s Redmi Note 11S with a punch hole display and a four camera array on its back.
The images also reveal it will pack a headphone jack and IR blaster. In addition, the charging specs show a new 67W charger bearing the MDY-14-EU model number compared to the 33W one bundled with the Redmi Note 11S.
The rest of the specs are rumored to match the Note 11S with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate upfront. The phone is expected to launch with the same MediaTek Helio G96 chipset as its predecessor.
it's not about the performance, it's about energy efficiency, G90T/G95/G96 eats power like crazy compared to 700 series Snapdragons and Dimensity lineup. Also this chipsets get hot even under moderate load.
Exactly 👈 New phones nowadays means a few bumped up specs in 1/2 section and extra year of updates. Custom rom could be a thing but that's not for everyone. Not to mention buying phone just for updates contribute greatly in e-waste.
Just because it's "fine" doesn't mean it should be okay to literally use the same SoC since Redmi note 10S (it actually used the g95 which is slightly better than this bruh)
