I had to reset it a... moreIndeed! Skyblueborb is doing an amazing job with that unofficial LineageOS, it truly is giving extra life to this phone (i.e., works far better than the latest stock version).
The phone is still perfectly usable in 2024/2025, although a bit slow.
I can understand why someone might want to think about upgrading at this point, but let it be your decision, not some forced obsolescence bull*** from lack of support from the manufacturer (or even worse, like degraded performance and such).

I bought my Mi A3 128GB/4GB over 5 years ago and it ran mostly perfectly.
I had to reset it a few weeks ago as Phone Key functionality with my Tesla stopped working after 3+ years. I contemplated upgrading to a Pixel9, but decided to install LineageOS on it (look in XDA forums) first to see how that would go.
This change made an incredible difference in the feel of this phone, it's now smooth as silk compared to the stock A11 ROM and I don't really see any reason to get a new phone now. I'm on the latest Android version and the performance is a lot better than on the stock ROM.

using it for 4.5 years without any problems. only did one factory reset about 1.5 years ago to get rid of all the apps that I didn´t use anymore and to clear the memory, and that´s it. battery is still very good, nearly 800 charging cycles. this phone was value for money for sure.

What type of c-type charging cable comes with the Mi A3? I don't think any will do. The adapter is mdy-09-ew, but I just need the cable. Thanks.

I bought mine 4 years ago from a friend after 6 months of slight usage and still working great and looking good as new. Hope i could find a new A3 even if it's an old stock as reserve unit since i can't find a new one with same performance.

Over 4 years and still getting 6 hours of screen time. No issues with the phone at all.
I think it´s even better that it´s not receiving updates, so there is no chance to mess it up.
When the time comes, I think I´m just gonna replace the battery instead of buying a new phone. The only upgrade I´d be looking for is the higher screen ppi density.

anon, 25 Mar 2024does the fingerprint still work after a screen replacement?Yes, I replaced it once and it still works. Though I remember that when I changed the screen, it SLIGHTLY became less good. REMEMBER, JUST A TINY BIT, VERY TINY BIT, very tiny.

Been using for 4 and a half years.
No battery changes.
No screen cracks.
Daylight photo is still competitive.
Loud speaker is nice too.
Worth every penny.
Gem of a phone.
