Bought it in October 2016, still running it on a LineageOS 17 (android 11), changed the battery in 2021. It still works relatively fine, the only weird thing is the camera that make noise like an old camera opening (shreeek like sound) when I open the camera application. Changing the battery allow me to charge the phone once every 2 days with my usage.

Well... I have mine from 2017 February. Still alive. Had its battery changed once, have one left to spare. I just wonder now, for how long will it last. It is funny that main challenges for it now are TikTok and Instagram, which make it heat-up like it is allergic to internet crap for zoomers. I just love it. The rest of my need it covers fine: reading, calling, music, chatting/ Charging once a day, maybe twice - I'm okay with that, and after battery change it might last even more.
Or die in my hands, like an old veteran he is.

Bought it a month after release. Still using it (30.11.2021). Sad about not getting MIUI 11. I've dropped it several times, which caused NFC malfunction. Other than that, great phone camera is better than some new models. As an addition, even tho it has two "speaker spaces" only one work (at full capacity = not stereo. But stereo works on headphones/earphones) later I found out that it is common defect in Xiaomi. Why? No idea)

it is actually degradable to android 8, great phone, still have it and it's flying, battery lasts for around 2-3 days depending on load. I use 2 SIMs, one for work and the other private. When I use it for android auto navigation, playing music and using Bluetooth plus data connections at the same time while driving, then it gets hot and the system is getting slow, otherwise very good.

Have it since 2017, can't believe its still going strong. Got the 4gb Ram and 128gb storage version. Battery is still good, 1.5days

I wanted to record a longer video -- first, I have to say I upgraded to LineAgeOS, latest version.
When I recorded the video, I found out that only 27 minutes were recorded, which was a 4 GB file. I wish I could have recorded longer.
I am still searching for any option anywhere, where I can say "record video for very long time". Otherwise after 27 minutes the video recording stops.

Well, i still use mi5s now 😂, i use pe rom pact 5 july 2019 and I think this best rom for me. I just changed my battery few week ago with vizz battery and sot in pe 5-6 hours
