Xiaomi Android Firmware updates

Yesterday, we learned that there are at least 5 million people who are still using their Xiaomi Mi 2/2S despite this generation of Mi devices being more than four years old. Today, some great news follows regarding the decision to update the Xiaomi Mi 2 and Mi 2S to Android Nougat, along with MIUI 9.

The news comes from the official MIUI English forum. Xiaomi has included the Mi 2 and Mi 2S in the list of devices that are getting MIUI 9, which is set to launch on July 26 alongside the Xiaomi Mi 5X.

Xiaomi Mi 2S

Xiaomi must have gotten the formula right with the Xiaomi Mi 2 and Mi 2S: a durable body with a removable battery, powering the most current software efficiently. The removable battery enables users to simply purchase a replacement battery when it starts to lose its charge over time.

Xiaomi has a long list of devices that will be eligible to receive the MIUI 9 (China ROM): Mi 6, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5s, Mi 5c, Mi 5, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi 4, Mi 3, Mi 2/2S, Mi MIX, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi Note 2, Mi Note/Pro, Mi Pad 2, Mi Pad 1, Redmi Note 4X (MTK), Redmi Note 4X (SD), Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 3 (MTK), Redmi Note 3 (SD), Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note, Redmi Pro, Redmi 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 3S/Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2/Prime, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1.
