As expected, the Xiaomi Civi 3 is now official in China and it brings the first Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset which features the same basic specs as the regular Dimensity 8200 but with customization to the image signal processing (ISP) by Xiaomi and MediaTek.
As with past Civi model phones, Civi 3 focuses on the camera experience with dual 32MP front-facing cameras housed in a pill-shaped cutout alongside LED flashes flanking the speaker grille. The primary selfie cam features OIS and autofocus while the second module features a wider 100-degree angle and up to 4K video recording. The LED flashes on the front use AI to simulate lighting effects ranging from cold to warm to produce more realistic colors on your selfies.
The back of the device brings a large camera cutout housing three sensors. There’s a 50MP IMX800 primary with 1.0μm large pixels and OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro module.
There’s a 6.55-inch AMOLED display up front with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and features up to 1,500 nits peak brightness. Xiaomi Civi 3 brings 12/16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage as well as a 4,500 mAh battery with 67W wired charging. The software side is covered by MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
Xiaomi Civi 3 comes in Purple, Mint, Gold, Gray colors. The baseline 12/256GB model is priced at CNY 2,499 ($353) while the top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage trim is set at CNY 2,999 ($424). Open sales in China start on May 31.
