Today Xiaomi is taking a new step in its expansion in Europe. The company opens the biggest Mi Store on the Old Continent in Paris, France, at the famous Champs-Elysees street. Although the launch is scheduled for 1 PM local time, some people started lining at sunrise with temperatures around 0 degrees Celsius.
The official photos on Twitter revealed Xiaomi will sell pretty much everything from its product portfolio - from smartphones like the Redmi Note 6 Pro and Pocophone F1 to headphones, Yi cameras, purifiers and plenty of other home appliances. The new store might be the biggest Xiaomi brick-and-mortar retail spot in Europe but at the same time is the second in France’s capital.
People are lining for the Mi Store five hours before the official opening
If you wanted to celebrate the new opening, but you can’t be physically in Paris, the company is having a three-day sale party ending today at its French online store. It has the Mi Max 3 discounted by €50 to €220, the 6/64 GB Pocophone F1 is just €320, down from €360. There is also the Mi 8 deal - the phone will set you back €430, but you’ll get €50 back in Mi vouchers, making the flagship effectively cost you just €380.
Chinese companies copy and steal, and build on top of what they stole. They do not drive innovation.
