K.S.H., 27 Apr 2025After updating to Hyper OS 2, this device has been smooth like butter.I can confirm. Hated wasting so much money on this. I still hate Mi for taking so long but my next device will be Oneplus anyway for their lifetime free screen replacement program on green lines.

I have been using it for 8months, here are my thoughts.
The cameras are extremely good. Portraits using the x2 tele are very good.
The main issues are the horrendously poor front facing camera that won't be any better than any entry level phone's as soon as its not well lit or facing the sun.
All the rumors regarding the battery life are infact true, the phone loses up to 15% per night. It does last surprinsingly long though when using it with very low brightness.
The Snpadragon 8gen 1 although being decently fast will only be fast for the first 20 minutes of gaming and then will proceed to heavily throttle or continue anyway if you enable boost but you'll melt your hands doing so. You CAN get overheating warning simply by reccording videos if its too hot outside.
There is really nothing to complain about the three rear cameras though. Aside from the fact that the ultrawide lacks AF and that HDR videos are VERY stuttery, you can notice frame missing.
And for last, curved screen makes it very difficult to apply screen protectors.

Review
Title: This phone has significant flaws.
Body: Keeping aside its obvious beauty and fast response times, I'd like to focus on the nightmares after using it for over a year.
The battery backup is horrible and idle battery drain is way too high compared to many other phones. I have to reach my charger by afternoon after 3 hours of SOT with mixed used including YouTube, browsing, calls and texts.
The UI is not as fluid as even some of Samsung's old phones like S20. The lacking optimization of MIUI and HyperOS is clearly visible after use.
Most people do not know that all Xiaomi phones have natively poor memory retention issues. Apps just won't stay open in the background and that's because of a feature in its Game Centre application. Turning it off will let apps to stay in the background.
Camera is the weakest section of all Xiaomi and Redmi phones. This is not the case with this phone.
Although dual-speakers, it doesn't get louder than typical single speaker phones.
I got a green line after an update, since this phone is now out of warranty, I am not going to update this phone again.
This phone has significant throttling issues during game play.
It's a heavy phone, and with a case it goes to the heavy side which is typically unusable for people with medium or smaller hands.

Bro I play Mlbb on my Samsung note 9 8gb+512gb at 200ms to 280ms+ alot because of the network fluctuations my network carrier puts me through...heck, I did it yesterday and ranked from Legend to mythic playing solo even though as you can guess I wasn't playing anywhere close to half my peak
Heck, I played Star wings Jap release (using English language) and still stumped albeit I wanted to punch someone because of the lag as the game is way more intense and I still ranked there
If you can't play competitively at 100ms to 80ms then you not skilled enough yet is what I'd say
That said, I personally am about to get the Poco F3 or F4 (for the android 15 HyperOs). Those phone are the mvp for cheap flagship

After hyperos 💩update this phone got green line
If I normally use it for some minutes or stream something for 15 min this phone heat upto 48 to 52 degree and battery drain like water when it heatup, during heatup changing speed becomes very slow
Now days it is a useless junk heater
I will never waste my money on this type 3rd class Xiaomi flagship phones
I have OnePlus 11 I m very happy with it.

I have been using the Xiaomi 12 pro for almost 2 years now and I love it. The only downside is that the battery drains very fast when using the phone with no stop. Other than that everything is perfect.

What we could do right now is wait for another update to come and hope that the green line disappears.

My Xiaomi 12 pro just got a green line on the screen. It really sucks because i have been taking care of my phone really well like not dropping on the floor or having scratches. I have no choice but to switch to another phone now.
Pls recommend me phones that doesn't get green line easily.
