Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS this week - its overhaul of Mi OS and it got a lot of attention. The new OS will premiere on the Xiaomi 14 series, which is coming soon. We also saw leaked screenshots from HyperOS and they reveal a slight design refresh but not an overhaul.
The Galaxy S24 series display specs were revealed. It looks like the non-Ultra models will finally get LTPO panels, bringing a truly variable refresh rate to the Galaxy S24 and S24+. All three will have a peak brightness of 2,500 nits - which is already behind recent phones like the new OnePlus Open and its 2,800 nits - but at this point, it's just nitpicking. The colorways of the upcoming Galaxy S series were also revealed - expect Black, Gray, Violet, and Yellow.
Speaking of OnePlus, both OnePlus and Oppo unveiled their new book-style foldable to the world. The OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3 are essentially the same devices with top-of-the-line specs. The displays are both high-res LTPO 3 panels with bonkers brightness. The cover screen is a 6.31-inch unit with a conventional 20:9 aspect ratio, while the inner display is a 7.82-inch unit.
Camera-wise the Find N3/Open packs a triple Hasselblad system with Sony's new 48MP LYTIA-T808 "pixel stacked" sensor and two 1/2" sensors for the ultrawide and the 3x telephoto. The OnePlus Open is available in a single 16/512GB memory configuration for the price of €1,799 or £1,599, while in India, it's INR 139,999. The Oppo Find N3 will sell in a single 16/512GB version for SGD 2,399 (€1,650, INR 145,400, converted).
