Watch the ZTE nubia X with its two screens get tortured on video

ZTE Android nubia

ZTE sub-brand nubia announced the intriguing X at the end of October - a device with two screens and two fingerprint sensors. It's one of those that solves the issue of where to put the selfie camera if there's no bezel space for it by simply removing it altogether. Instead, you get a secondary screen on the back which you can use to shoot selfies with the main sensors. Win-win?

nubia's flagship smartphone is now the latest to be put through YouTube channel JerryRigEverything's traditional torture test. If you've ever seen one of these before, you already know what to expect: it will be scratched, it will be burned, and hopefully it won't get bent. So grab some popcorn and have a look.

Here are a few highlights if for some reason you aren't able to watch the video: the nubia X's screens scratch at a level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, with deeper grooves appearing at level 7. That's par for the course for any glass-covered phone display.

After ten second exposure to an open flame, the pixels in the main screen turn black until the heat is removed, and then they slowly recover. The rear AMOLED panel will exhibit different behavior because of the different tech - in its case the pixels go white and never recover.

Finally, the bend test. Despite the area of the frame where the fingerprint sensors are on either side looking like it could be weakening the phone's structural integrity, the nubia X survives being bent from both sides with flying colors.
