Covet the new Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone, but want to know how much it will cost? Samsung just announced the phone, but has only shared a price for its home market of Korea. Still, we can work out how much it will cost elsewhere.
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold comes in a single Crafted Black model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It's priced at KRW 3,594,000, which converts to €2,108, $2,450, £1,850, or INR 2,20,140. But those aren't the prices to expect.
To gauge the price, we'll take the Galaxy Z Fold7's equivalent model, the 12/512GB one, which started at KRW 2,537,700 at launch, about 30% lower than the TriFold.
So, if we apply the premium to the Galaxy Z Fold7 prices in the US, the UK, and Europe, we get the following numbers and they don't sound unreasonable prices for such a high-tech phone.
In India, the expected price of the Galaxy Z TriFold comes out to around INR 2,44,000. The estimates for the US, UK, and Europe you can find in the table below - expect the numbers to be rounded, but certainly in that ballpark.
| Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| US | UK | EU | ||
| 16GB/512GB | $2,990 | £2,680 | €3.130 | |
If Samsung actually sells the Trifold at around $2300-2500, then Huawei's Mate XT would be a $1000 more expensive
You do know that the Z-Trifold outer screen is 420 ppi? It’s this small glass 6.5” screen that you actually use closer to your face, definitely not the 10” one. Again, as the iPad pros and other tablets show, there is no need for high ppi at 10”...
