vivo Android Announcement

vivo's been on a roll lately since the company launched seven smartphones this month - Y21T, V23, V23 Pro, Y33T, Y21e, Y55 5G, and Y21A. That number increased to eight today as vivo introduced one more smartphone, dubbed vivo Y75 5G.

The vivo Y75 5G isn't an entirely new smartphone, though. It's actually the Y55 5G with more RAM and a higher-res selfie camera. The Y55 5G comes with 4GB RAM and an 8MP selfie unit, while the Y75 5G sports a 16MP selfie shooter and has 8GB (+ 4GB virtual) RAM onboard.

The rest of the vivo Y75 5G's specs include a Dimensity 700 SoC, 6.58" FullHD+ LCD, Funtouch OS 12 (likely based on Android 11), 128GB storage (expandable up to 1TB), and a camera system on the rear comprising 50MP primary, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth units.

The vivo Y75 5G ships with a 5,000 mAh battery that draws power through a USB-C port at up to 18W, and you also get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for password-less unlocking.

Why are phones in this price range stuck on Cortex A76 released 2.5 years ago? Surely a 2+6 configuration with A78 is not unreasonable to ask at this price.
