vivo Android Announcement

Exactly three months after being released in China, the vivo X Fold6 has now been announced for global markets, just like a rumor predicted a few days ago.

The X Fold6 has an 8.02-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED screen with 2312x2504 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5,000-nit peak brightness, and a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen with 1120x2528 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5,000-nit peak brightness. The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset sits at the helm, paired with 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB/1TB of storage.

The phone boasts a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide, a 20MP inner selfie camera, a 20MP cover selfie camera, and a 6,900 mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. It has IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The phone's international version launches with OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17. It features the Multi-Task Workbench, which consists of the Origin Workbench, a layout with one main window and four auxiliary windows, and Multi-Split Screen, which shows up to four windows that can be freely resized side by side. Furthermore, AI Cross-App Drag lets content move between apps.

AI Meeting Assistant comes with AI Recorder to capture in-person meetings, and AI Captions for real-time subtitles during online meetings and video calls. AI File Manager makes file organization smarter, and AI Reader Mode reformats complex PDFs into "clean eBook layouts for comfortable long-form reading", vivo's official press release says.

The Jovi "intelligent AI agent" is present in OriginOS 7 Fold as well. It can work seamlessly across smartphones and computers to "search and understand materials, generate content, and complete end-to-end office workflows" with a simple voice command. It also supports recurring tasks, and vivo Office Kit transforms the device into a "desktop-like workspace" when it's connected to a monitor or TV with Desktop Mode.
