The only thing i am little disappointed is that HiRes mode on Mi 11 Ultra was clearly better than on X90 Pro+, more detailed and just better..I hope they optimize it little better.

Their tests made the galaxy s22 ultra look great in terms of its color reproduction, which is absolutely not true. The exposure is also extremely weird and misses the mark a lot. Furthermore, the detail is quite lacking. So their high scores in those areas just make no sense to me. iPhone and Samsung have similar artifact scores but both actually suck. I'd say the iPhone sucks more in some cases and Samsung sucks more in others but they definitely are NOT qualified for such high scores there. I tried to give Dxo many chances after listening to people use them for their arguments but the scores and their testing methodologies suck. If they are going to create dumb terms in order to seem superior and not let audiences understand what it is that they're doing then yeah, that's bad design. No "pro" photographer reads their goofy ahh reviews, only normies do

I've just came here with real life comparisons and not simply bashing like they do. Because I don't blindly hate Vivo unlike they do with Samsung.
Honestly, I couldn't care less about this Vivo and I've told before it's one of the best phones out there. I don't need anyone to listen to me. But I've provided real world comparisons that anyone can see, to prove wrong these who just rant. I don't want to glorify anything - I've posted 3 comparison videos, replied to a couple of good comments and I'm out. Enjoy your Vivo!

As far as Pro RAW / Hi Res photos ... moreSamsung is surely ahead on regular hdr, not sure how it goes for bright lights in city at night since vivo perform ahead of most.
I also went form old vivo to new samsung so I cannot compare much, but hdr matters about as much as resolution and performance at night, which I miss a lot, even more on other sensors than main camera.
Tho samsung excel in main camera, but other fovs are lagging too behind, which makes it harder to shoot consistently at least in 0.6-3x range, you will have hard time mostly in low light, but also when attempting to do that hi res(which will be like mission impossible on the rest of sensors).
On old phone I used hi res on main and portrait camera not only because it was better to look at than low res photo, but also because there was a raw, as it was easier and more versatile to edit(not to mention it also works as ownership guarantee). No such thing now at hi res on new(or 200mp on s23), also low res on the sw, tele, so when shooting different angles you loose quality.
Not to mention, regular hi res got way worse detail preservation than hi res from vivo, or xiaomi, even before hdr mode says something, it hurts to have such option you might use.
As for super tele Vivo and others surely lag behind, its like 7.5x zoom on those, which is not much of difference when comparing 10x shots, which are already low res. Having about 3.5x hi res mode and big sensor is more valuable for me... ...but that may change as well on s24u so x100pro+ better have 7x hi res sensor, or the sales in one year may drop.
I know very well how much I use tele, so if there is big enough difference, it moves with scales.

AnonF-1085071, 18 Feb 2023But in overall night scenario the final score was Vivo 4 points, Samsung 3 points, Huawei 2 po... moreSamsung clearly won in versus channel youtube. Daytime 4K was a tie between the two (both 10 points), but 8K was a clear win for S23U because of great stabilization.
In DXOmark both have 140 overall score (Vivo having better zoom, main cam and low light, S23U having higher points in video). But i don't take DXOmark seriously, honestly i don't know if anyone take them seriously and my current Mi 11 Ultra having 141 points, so it beats both :)
Yesterday i ordered Vivo X90 Pro+, because for me who shoots 95% in RAW, i can't consider any other phone than Vivo or Xiaomi 12SU (Xiaomi 13 Pro too, but too ugly design, so no chance to buy X13Pro).
I use selfie cam once per month and rarely use zoom above 10x, so Vivo also suits better for me in that department, since i think that from 2x to 3x and 3.9x to 9.9x (i think Vivo zoom is actually 3.9x, not 3.5x) Vivo will be better for zooming than S23U.
Both have great great display, big display, good battery, fast chip, even 25W battery charging is good for me and Vivo is 250€ cheaper.

Okay, the Vivo has better NIGHT MAIN camera results, but what about the other main camera scenarios or the other sensors? Even you saw the Samsung S23 Ultra won by 29 points (compared to Vivo's 19 points, that's 50% better results in overall and general) I've always said general cams, not sticking to just one. You are smart and you know this is undeniable. I've been always making the point that the S23 Ultra has the most complete setup and in this regard no one can compete right now, of course it's not the best in every individual scenario as saying that would be plain lying.
Also remind that the S23 Ultra is still with the pre-release software. Samsung improves a lot their cameras every year with updates and much better ISP in the harshest scenarios.
So looking at reliable comparisons, we can clearly say the Samsung S23 Ultra has quite a better camera setup than the Vivo X90 Pro Plus, but the Vivo is better at nighttime pics with the main camera. It's only second to the Pixel 7 Pro. But if we try Expert RAW pics with the longest possible exposure, moon pics, astrophotography pics (all of these are with the main camera) Vivo would probably lose against the S23 Ultra.
Right now as of entire camera setup or best phone in overall, that's the Samsung S23 Ultra. The best main cam photography Pixel 7 Pro. A very good phone that won't fail in any aspect and the best after the S23 Ultra (in overall, not just cameras) very likely Vivo X90 Pro+ is the answer. It's a very good phone though, as you can see I don't blindly bash this Vivo.

Too weak sensor and even Samsung top notch ISP couldn't save S23U in night shots. And also main cam video at night it was owned by Vivo."
Who lies? Read again what i wrote. Vivo was much better main cam night shots and i said it was the last at night shots main cam, not night video main cam (Vivo = 18 points, Huawei = 14 points, Xiaomi with its abysmal post processing = 11 points and S23U = 10 points).
Night main cam video was comfortable win for Vivo, being clearly better, S23U came in second place.
Night main cam shots + night main cam video was = Vivo 22 points, Huawei = 15 points, 12SU and S23U 13 points.
So not little better night main cam than S23U, but much better.
And i clearly said night MAIN cam.

Too weak sensor and even Sam... moreOf course the Vivo will be better in few things as it's still a good phone and the S23 Ultra is not perfect, but overall the Samsung is quite better and this is undeniable. I've shown 3 videos already and the Vivo gets beaten up by the Samsung S23 Ultra in all comparisons. In camera comparisons as well as in general aspects. All what I say is true as I've shown 3 proofs already. Meanwhile others (not talking about you) simply rant because they can't accept the reality.
Yes, the Vivo is a little bit better at night shots and it won by 1 point (4 points, Samsung 3 points, Huawei 2 points and Xiaomi 1 point) I don't know why you lie saying it was the last one when it beat Huawei and Xiaomi and it was just literally 1 point behind the Vivo. But it won against the Vivo in daytime pics, macro, zoom, selfie, video record and stabilization.
In overall the Samsung S23 Ultra got 29 points compared to the 19 points obtained by the Vivo, it crushed it in all individual aspects (except for night photo which was just 1 point behind) and the overall difference is really big - and the Samsung is still with the pre-launch software. If it wins by this huge gap right now... just think the gap will be even bigger in few months, as the Samsung will get several improving updates.

Brand new comparison uploaded today by VERSUS on YouTube. Samsung S23 Ultra vs Vivo X90 Pro+ vs Huawei Mate 50 Pro vs Xiaomi 12S Ultra... who will win?? It's an easy one lol!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBWmEB3NFxQ
Result:
1. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra - 29 Points
2. Vivo X90 Pro Plus - 19 Points
3. Huawei Mate 50 Pro - 13 Points
4. Xiaomi 12S Ultra - 10 Points
So like I have said yesterday reality hits once again, it seems it wasn't enough with the 2 comparisons I've posted? Here you have a new one. Yes, Vivo's Dynamic Range is still laugheable. So is the overexposure, overblown pics, poor selfie, lame video record and lamest video stabilization and so on... real life comparisons make the deal, not empty words on GSMArena!!!
PS. And that just sticking to camera, as in the other aspects... the S23 Ultra crushes even more this Vivo and all chinese phones in general.

Samsung didn't even pay for Dolby vision😂
Sounds like buyers remorse, boy
FlagshipsSuck, 15 Feb 2023Can't edit my previous comment. Looks like my front facing camera can now do 4K video. Ac... moreLMAO half of these "reasons" are just there to fill your emptiness.
Let's make a real comparison with straight facts:
1. Vivo's 1080p 32mpx mediocre front facing camera vs Samsung's 4K HDR front facing camera, which it has half the megapixels but the quality is immensely superior.
2. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating on the S23 Ultra vs a fake cheap "leather" coating on the Vivo, without even mentioning how ugly it is with that sensor that occupies 1/3 of the back cover.
3. The Samsung has a far superior main camera, with 200mpx getting many more details, extremely superior video, extremely superior Dynamic Range, extremely superior exposure, superior night photography and overall color accuracy - the Vivo lacks so much in cameras.
4. Samsung has a proper RAW app that can let you even take astrophotography photos. The video stabilization is on another level. Vivo shakes so much like mid-range phones do.
5. Real x3 and x10 optical zoom, their telephoto lens CRUSH Vivo's mediocre 3.5x zoom.
6. Superior screen with much better calibration and 200 nits superior manual brightness.
7. Much superior sound both with the built-in internal speakers and external BT sound, Vivo allows just 24/192kHz sound, Samsung supports 32/384kHz real Hi-Res audio LOL
7. The Samsung can go up to 1TB of storage, their storage is as well faster.
8. The battery of the Samsung is quite better, having about 20-30% more SoT hours, for the Vivo you need a charger and a nearby plug if you want to use your phone all day long lmao.
9. Samsung's UI is so superior that it's not even worthy to compare them as Vivo gets ashamed, with that crappy Chinese UI, filled with bloatware, extremely late updates, bugs and lots of incompatibilities if you want to use it outside of China, like with Android Auto.
10. Samsung DeX and so many unique features Vivo can only dream about.
11. The ultrasonic fingerprint is actually better on Samsung, Vivo uses the older 2022 version
12. Samsung updates your phone (and fast) for 5 years, Vivo/BBK 2-3 years at most, and they arrive late, even European Oppo's got Android 13 like 3 months after the S23 Ultra lol.
13. Much better future price for the Samsung compared to the Vivo
14. UWB support for the Samsung, 0 for the Vivo
15. 3 sim support for the Samsung, including the modern eSIM = NO from Vivo
16. Superior performance, slightly better processor (clock speed) and faster memory
17. Armored aluminium frame, vs Vivo's cheap and chinese-specifical frame
18. S-Pen on Samsung which opens a new league of capabilities. 0 stylus on Vivo.
19. The Samsung can take extremely good Macro photos up to 1-2cm close to the subject, the Vivo loses it's AF and gets all blurred out if the subject is at 10cm or less. Shameful.
20. Much better build quality, internal quality and a proper QC unlike the Vivo.
And I can continue... Vivo can be okay competing with other inferior chinese brands like Xiaomi or Oppo, but they are so far behind Samsung and dude... trying to compare them just makes it laugheable, as we can use real life facts and specs to DEBUNK your shillings!!!
Now please continue ranting because Samsung is much better than Vivo or any chinese brand.
[deleted post]Can you use your brain? Who invented UFS 4.0 , DDR5X RAM and the Vivo's screen for example? Samsung made all of these. And of course uses even superior ones on their phone.
"The first phone to have it" you say it like if it was a technological improvement to be the first using all of that stuff, which anyways was created and made by Samsung and they sell it to all companies. But the LPDDR5X the Samsung uses, for example, is faster than the Vivo's one.
The Vivo has LAUGHEABLE cameras for its price, because their postprocessing sucks, look at the overblown videos with a little bit of light, the mediocre selfie that looks like the one from a 300$ phone come on... you're defending this chinese crap with no real arguments.
