vivo is getting ready to launch a new smartphone in India, the V30e. This model comes with a 5,500 mAh battery, and it's touted as being India's slimmest smartphone with that capacity considering the fact that it's 7.69mm thick.

vivo also promises "4-year battery health", which means the cell should retain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 complete charge cycles, which vivo says means approximately four years.

The phone has a 50 MP main camera using Sony's IMX882 sensor, a 50 MP selfie camera with Eye AF, an Aura Light ring LED flash, and a "Gem Cut" design. It will be offered in Velvet Red and Silk Blue, with a curved display.

These are all the details vivo has revealed right now through its teaser microsite, and a note at the end makes us think the V30e might be getting official on May 2.

Previous rumors talked about it having a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED touchscreen, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, 44W fast wired charging support, an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, and it should of course run Android 14 with vivo's Funtouch OS 14 on top. Expect the V30e to be sold both through vivo's online store in India as well as Flipkart.

You got some source to read more about brands focusing more or less on safety for batteries? Seems quite odd, if every brand receives battery components from the same suppliers.
