HTC is evidently working on diversifying its midrange lineup with another device. Leakster @upleaks has provided information on the brand new Desire 626 handset.
The new smartphone, codenamed A32, is built around a 5-inch display of 1280x720 pixel resolution. Apparently two versions are being developed, one more powerful than the other.
The former variant features a Mediatek MT6572 chipset with an octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.7GHz, and 2GB of RAM. The lower-specced version runs on the popular Snapdragon 410, with a single GB of RAM, bringing it close to the current Desire 620.
Both models come with a 13MP main camera, and a 5MP front shooter, which lacks a flash, the images reveal. Storage is reported to be 16GB, which will likely be expandable. A rather low-capacity 2000mAh battery powers either version. The smartphone will run Android 4.4 upon launch, but a Lollipop update will follow later on.
Obviously, this info is yet to be confirmed, and price and availability is unknown.
SourceInstead of Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and 1GB ram, they could give Qualcomm Snapdragon 415/425 and 2GB of RAM.
