Threads now lets you delete your account without deleting your Instagram account

Meta Instagram Threads Online services

Meta launched Threads in early July and as curious Instagram users signed up for the new text-oriented service, it grew to 100 million users in just five days. However, users quickly realized that this was a one-way street – once you activated a Threads account, the only way to delete it was to delete your whole Instagram account. Was.

Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced that this restriction has now been lifted. Users who want to quit Threads can go to Settings > Account > Delete or Deactivate Profile. As the name suggests, this gives you the option to temporarily suspend your account or to permanently delete it. Either way, your Instagram account will not be affected.

Meta recently changed how it shows Threads post and they now surface on other Meta platforms like Facebook. The second change announced today is that you can limit this – head over to Settings > Privacy for that. Note that this only applies to Facebook and not Instagram, which will continue to show your Threads posts regardless.

How oh so confident of you. Bots are super easy to see. Also, bots don't do spams. 🙃🙃

The reason why it's less toxic is most likely because the entire Threads userbase consists of you and 7 Threads employees
