The Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max were both announced in March, but after months had passed, many believe that the vanilla Poco X8 might have been canceled. No one had an explanation, but we all just assumed that Xiaomi scrapped the vanilla Poco X8. Until now, that is.
Poco X8 Pro Max
In Xiaomi's HyperOS source code, X user Kacper Skryzpek unearthed solid evidence that the Poco X8 exists and it has a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth sensor. And if that sounds familiar, it's likely because the Poco X8 will actually be a rebranded Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G. The latter launched recently alongside the regular Redmi Note 17.
So by extension, this means that the Poco X8 will sport a huge 9,000 mAh battery, or at least we hope so. After all, EU regulations make it hard for manufacturers to import huge single-cell batteries, so we might see a significant reduction in capacity for the EU market. Still, the global Poco X8 will likely see a generous upgrade over its predecessor.
Additionally, the report suggests the global Redmi Note 17 Pro will add an 8MP ultrawide shooter on the back.
