Yesterday, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the latest engineering sample of the vivo X500 Ultra featured a new 200MP camera with a 1/1.2-inch sensor. The tipster has now shared details about the upcoming flagship’s main camera.
In a new Weibo post, DCS shared that the vivo X500 Ultra engineering sample uses a 50MP Sony LYT910 sensor paired with a 35mm lens.
vivo X300 Ultra gets a 200MP main rear camera
While this hasn’t been confirmed, the tipster could be referring to Sony’s 1/1.28-inch Lytia L910 LOFIC sensor, which was unveiled in June this year. The 50MP sensor offers a dynamic range of 100dB and supports 4K HDR video recording at 60fps.
If the rumor is accurate, the 50MP main camera seems like a downgrade on paper from the 200MP 1/1.12-inch sensor on the vivo X300 Ultra. However, the difference in real-world image quality may not be as significant.

Looks like I made a good choice grabbing a cheap deal on vivo x300 ultra then. Very happy with these cameras. Unless they fit bigger sensors with lofic in next couple years in ultra series,I don't need to upgrade yet
50MP is plenty tbh The better dynamic range could prove to be useful in low-light videos or in films (e.g. a dark room with sunlight coming through the windows).
For that they also need to match their ultrawide sensor size to that of the X300 Ultra.
