I'll watch it for 2 days to see if there's any improvement
But honestly I think only a HIOS 14.5 or HiOS 15 update can fix the issue

While both are currently... moreI guess android 14 (HiOS 14) update for Camon 20 Pro 5G wasn't optimised properly by Tecno for Dimensity 8050 processor, that's the reason for battery drain, compared to Android 13 (HiOS 13) factory version that came with the phone... Although I have downgraded to Android 13 via official service centre, the battery life is still worst, idk what happened cuz I don't charge above 85% and let it below 20%, and no frequently charging the phone. When I asked the service centre, they said since the software was also replaced with the factory version, battery might have to be replaced... Since it costs a good amount of money, and the phone's warranty has ended (just over 1 year), I feel like to keep this thing for some time and exchange someday... Except the battery drain, the phone's performance, camera, storage speed, connectivity etc are really good for its price (at least in factory software version). And, about that Phantom X2 Pro, yeah since it's flagship stuff, Tecno folks would keep a better eye on it... And, if anyone had updated to the latest patch, can ya share the patch notes and say if there's any changes (for Camon 20 Pro 5G)??

While both are currently running Android 14, I am having very different software experiences with both of them in daily use.
My Camon 20 Pro is running HiOS 14 overlay on top on Android 14 and after this update with the latest patch running, the overall performance, battery backup are much worse over previous Android 13.
On the other hand my Phantom X2 Pro is running HiOS 14.5 overlay on top on Android 14 and it feels and operates as good as the initial Android 12 with which it was launched. Everything is liquid smooth on the UI, no lags nothing. No performance degradation, no extra heat. Battery backup is as awesome as it was on previous Android versions.
The only difference I noticed in the software front by Tecno is Phantom X2 Pro have received TÜV SÜD 36-month Fluency Rating A for its long-term system fluency. I am not so clear about this certification but it seems they are gauging effectiveness of the synergy between hardware and software in terms of smartphone fluency over 36 month period (2 year of major Android update and 3 years of security updates). Camon 20 Pro does not come with any software fluency rating. It seems all their flagship Phantom series phones comes with this TÜV SÜD Fluency Rating A as they spend more money and resources to better optimize the software with each major upgrade.

If you still have your phone covered under warranty, you can contact the authorised service centre and ask them for the downgrade from Android 14 to Android 13 (HiOS 13). I did the same for my phone, for one week the battery was to the level when I bought it, but now, idk if some other "criminal" patch silently installed when I updated apps, and the battery has again become worse like how it's in the current patch you're using... Only hope is that Android 15 (HiOS 15) should fix this...

Phone is really good
Just this android 14 update hios 14 that ruined the experience...
Heard Hios 15 would probably rollout by 2nd quarter of 2025.... Hope this fixes the phone if the phone gets hios 15

mine got broke this february, this phone is trash, easily got drained battery even when not in use, heating issues, bent frame, and can't be repaired. It just got dead while I'm charging it, and it never opened again.
