I have observed that xperia 5 mark 4 Japanese varient drops 4g signals once data is on. And if you switch to 2g, signal strength gets boosted but data goes off, of course at 2g.

Some get some slightly less but issue remains there. Heating or something results in green lines in these mobiles. S21 does have greenline issue. Sad to know it exploded. Better solution is to install temperature monitor in ur smartphone and buy a mobile cooler gadget. It will cool down ur cell phone upto 6 degrees C, once you use ur mobile outside hot weather, while charging or while playing heavy games. Such gadget should not be a simple fan. It should have a little battery back up and you should feel the cold upon ur touch to gadget. Greenline issue is quite common now n if a mobile is made in 2020 like s20 series, thereafter you should expect green line after 3 years of usage (my assumption).

I've got an S21 5G that is now at the shop due to a sudden explosion of--no, not battery, GREEN LINES! It was humming along working just fine, until one day, I turned on, and BAM, one green line said hello to me. It wasn't even after an update or overheating. I'm not a phone junkie like all y'all. Now the shop told me the so-called free screen repair program is still in effect, but it will still cost a little money. Lucky for me I have a cheap secondhand iPhone on standby. This iPhone was released in 2016, but unbelievably it's still ticking, and exhibiting no green lines or any screen problems.

I've had my second hand Xperia 5 IV for almost a whole year now and i gotta say it's the best phone i've owned so far. The issues of this phone named in this comment section were either not present or non-issues, never got it to overheat so far (except for when it's already hot outside). I'm also a sucker for photography and i've been learning to shoot with manual settings so i'm pretty happy with the freedom and the UX the camera app offers. Can't say i see myself upgrading from this anytime soon, and even then it's probably gonna be an Xperia 1 just for that better telephoto lens.

My Phone is unable to receive dual frequency GNSS signals. Is there anybody out there whose Xperia 5IV is capable of this?

Xperia 5 mark 4, softbank released an update for its A204SO model. Anyone outside Japan who has updated his xperia 5 mark 4 with latest update released 2 days before. Update number is 64.2.E.2.228. Any impact on mobile performance and how to update being out of Japan. Thanks

S21 ultra appears better because it doesn't get that hot as compared to 5 mark 4. S20 ultra has a good battery, smooth any user friendly software. Sony 5 mark 4 is a mobile of Winters. Pluses it has, good for one hand use, 3.5 Jack battery excellent. Sound too good. If heating of 5 mark 4 is controlled then I ll definitely recommend Sony 5 mark 4. Otherwise s21 / ultra, besides Samsung spares are also available easily. But if u loose finger sensor of s21 series then u will have to change entire panel.

It's also Sony for making it hard to get it globally th... moreAs a buyer it is always on your shoulder to be skeptical on what you buy as most sellers will always not give full specs of the phone they sell specially if it's cheaper than what the expected price.

I used a couple of mobiles and felt that all mobiles heat up. 5 mark 4 heats up more than these but once I compared it with Pixel 7 pro, I found 7 pro heated up more or equal but xperia heat felt. More i realized xperia has smaller area therefore feel of the heat is more whereas the app was showing the temperature as equal or less than 7 pro. 7 pro was feeling cooler due to its more area. I watched YouTube opened WhatsApp while charging the temperature went to 40 C. But sometimes I get surprised that only using YouTube makes it warm. This mobile is also much effected by the sorrundings temperature. Anyone who used custom rom, May share his experience. It's good to keep, anyways. Thanks.

It's also Sony for making it hard to get it globally that people end up getting confused.
I also had that kind of experience; however, I was lucky that I could return the device.
