Sony Android

Sony is all set to introduce its next Xperia flagship – the Xperia 1 VII next week and the teasers keep coming. The latest one focuses on the Xperia 1 VII’s audio prowess.

The video showcases that the Xperia 1 VII will be powered by Walkman which should indicate some sort of audio improvements. The device will also retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, making it one of the only flagships to do so in 2025.

Sony previously posted a teaser for the Xperia 1 VII’s cameras which are “powered by Alpha” – Sony’s imaging division. Xperia 1 VII is expected to look just like its predecessor, but it will be a bit shorter and wider.

The new phone is expected to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chipset alongside updated cameras and Android 15 out of the box.

This was about the 4K screen. Not about the in-built DAC or anything, which actually has a purpose.

Good for Sony, i Like the specs, but I'd rather have a 16:9 waklman with smartphone capabilities (fiio for example) than a long remote controller.

Impossible to tell differences at this size. The other thing is running costs. The higher res screens use much more data. If you watch at 4K on a phone you use 4 times the data for video that a 1080p screen uses, so your data allowance runs out fast....
