Samsung's Exynos 2400 specs surface, to feature a 10-core CPU

Samsung Android Mobile hardware Rumors

AnTuTu's Chinese website is the latest to predict Samsung is going to once again use an Exynos chipset for some of its Galaxy S24 units next year. Perhaps European, African and some of the Asian countries will get the Galaxy S24 lineup with an Exynos 2400 SoC based on an improved 4nm manufacturing process from Samsung.

More interestingly, the report brings the detailed specs of the chipset. It's rumored to feature a 10-core CPU with a 1+2+3+4 configuration. The main Cortex-X4 core is said to be clocked at 3.1 GHz, while the duo cluster will consist of Cortex-A720 cores ticking at 2.9 GHz. A set of 3x Cortex-A720 is also on board running at 2.6 GHz and for the not-so-demanding tasks, 4x Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz should do. All cores are based on the ARMv9 architecture.

Regarding the GPU, it will feature an upgraded Xclipse 940 GPU boasting twice as many graphics compute units with AMD's RDNA 2 tech. Since the Xclipse 920 had three WGPs (workgroup processors) with two compute units in each, the Xclipse 940 will likely have six WGPs totaling 12 GPU cores. It's unclear whether that would be enough to compete with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or if that translates to twice the performance compared to the Exynos 2200. But it definitely sounds like a big step forward, as Exynos chips have always lacked graphical prowess.

Moreover, the chip will support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, while the new ISP will be able to handle 320MP camera sensors and 8K video recording at 60fps. The new Exynos 5300 modem will likely be integrated.

Atleast a unique feature added in Exynos 2400 that is 8k recording at 60 fps that none of the socs do till now. Except it other things performance is not good as compared to other flagship processors of this year.

Keep trying. The exact same hardware is needed to compare the performance. That's what your lil head can't get.

While it is more reliable now, Snapdragon is still better than Exynos.
