Samsung

Samsung Electronics has announced its earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2026, covering July to September.

Samsung said its consolidated sales for the period were approximately KRW 195 trillion ($145.33 billion), while consolidated operating profit was approximately KRW 107.40 trillion ($80 billion).

In comparison, Samsung's consolidated sales for the second quarter of 2026 (April to June) were worth KRW 171.5 trillion ($127.78 billion), while the operating profit was KRW 89.49 trillion ($66.68 billion).

In Q3 2025, Samsung had consolidated sales worth KRW 86.06 trillion ($64.13 billion) and operating profit of KRW 12.17 trillion ($9.06 billion).

The record surge in Samsung's Q3 2026 profit comes amid soaring demand for memory chips driven by growing AI use.

However, a recent South Korean media report says Samsung's Mobile eXperience (MX) division has begun cutting smartphone production for Q4 2026, with reductions of up to 30% expected.

An industry source said Samsung smartphones aren't making any profit when sold because of rising memory and semiconductor prices.
