Except for two things, First is old android version ... moreOlder Samsung Galaxy S & Note smartphones tend to have TONS of custom ROM support well after their official end-of-support. S2 is no exception; you can easily find all versions of Android (yes, UP TO 13!!) on XDA, and it's even not much slower than the company's 2020 super-budget phone Galaxy A01 Core (1+16GB variant), despite that A01 Core has quad core CPU.
It's no good at HD playback anymore (like Youtube, even just on browser not app) you have been warned lol.
Plus, only look for international model GT-i9100, NOT i9100G which is for some countries' carriers. i9100G don't have custom ROMs beyond Android 6.0...

Second is shitty battery, I didn't buy that phone
I was surprised after i discovered it was samsung's 2011 flagship
Unfortunately it's completely destroyed and unrepairable (i think)
I want to get it again and hack it

This was the best android phone of 2011. No other smartphone come close to this in 2011. Don't buy it now tho lol.

safin asa, 11 May 2023Bro why you use a 2011 phone while you can buy phone from 2023?I upgraded, I just bought a Wiko T50 and the phone service and apps actually work unlike my Galaxy SII - Wiko is the best phone I have ever used, it is so cheap and so good it is like luxury i cant believe how many games i can download on it and how good the rockstar GTA ifruit app works great phone

I remember the commercials. You can check out the new A series phones by Samsung, like A54 or 34. The S21 is good as well and you can get it for the price of a midrange phone now. If you want the latest you can go for the S23 as well. If Sony is available in your country you can check those phones they are good.

S2 is not an upgrade to S4 mini. You can compare the two phones here using the compare option. Also, there are better phones now for much less price. You can actually upgrade to a better device now.

my s2 randomly stopped starting up while charging, right the day when i reflashed its stock firmware (it got bricked), i was very happy untill it broke :( it's not battery issue, i'll have to do a teardown or if repair shops still service it.. i dont know what happened, maybe the power output broke it?

this phone is so bad, i been trying to make calls and texts with it but the calls keep dropping and my messages are not sending i can only do anything with wifi do not buy this phone it is bad handset i cannot even browse the rockstar games website on it without wifi but even if i do use wifi it crashes easily when i write reports or buy cards please dont buy this phone
