Reading these comments I cannot believe I am still seeing people praising losing the ability to use wired headphones, or otherwise putting up with it and going along with these companies who of course, have bluetooth headphones/in ear headphones to sell you, inferior to the quality of many wired headphones. Unless you want to put up with also taking a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter everywhere you go just to listen to the headphones you want. Sure, I get it, the average user doesn't really care about quality if they are streaming everything anyway (unless they are streaming Hi-Res audio I suppose, but that is not the majority of people sadly).
The same argument for the microSD card, which as far as I know, phones that still have a microSD slot are still limited to old UHS-I and do not use a UHS-II standard (never mind the 2017 UHS-III with 600+MB/s speeds) with the extra pins that offers 200+ MB/s read/write speeds (look up microSD V90 cards) and of course Samsung has the UFS cards up to 256GB (500MB/s read, 200+ MB/s write). I know phone storage is faster. Extra local storage under user control is always better than soldered. Of course, companies want to sell me that storage in the phone that I have no control over and push "cloud storage" aka trusting my data to some nameless server. I could do the involved thing and carry a light 1TB USB-C SSD or rugged portable HDD (up to 5TB from Seagate of similar price to a 1TB portable SSD) to secure my data to copy at home later, but that is again, one more thing to carry with me and I tend to back up at home, not on the go.

I have wireless headphones yes and i also do have wired ones for my s21 ultra and you know what i would never puck the wired ones at all only when i game and ofc i would never charge my phone while gaming so tell me how is this not common sense ?
So why would i complain about something i should careless about and im sure everyone with a common sense and is able to purchase this thinks the same
Sylar, 16 Dec 2021It isn't a money problem, not everybody want/need wireless...Tab A8 2021 have 3.5mm Jack ... moreI know but u can still use normal wired headphones you that right ?
Gaming is the most necessity and you won't be charging while you do that so it's simply normal
Hoping there is an 8" version of this tablet. This is the ideal size for me for tablet 8 inches. This version is a laptop size already and need to be water-resistant cuz some uses it for watching recipe while cooking.
holy cow, 5,5mm thickness?

No wonder Mediatek Dimensity 9000 is doing very well…

I have tab s7. I bought it for gaming and streaming but it really disappoint me until now. Games are still not optimized. And if try to play games with screen record instantly framerate drops. Now I have ipad pro m1 theres a big difference with gaming while recording. No framedrops or delay. So if you plan to buy for gaming go for ipad pros. If daily task go for tab s8.

Going to keep my opinion on this upcoming tablet tempered since this still has to compete with the iPad pro 12.9 (2021), and this applies to not just the Tab S8 Ultra, but also the Plus and the regular sizes variants as well.
The iPad Pro 12.9 (2021) and even the smaller sized variant scored over a million points in Antutu, and thus guarantees that every kind of app (or multiple) that is going to be running on it will run buttery smooth with no lag issues whatsoever. Plus, with the sheer score difference between this year's iPad pro and the last year's ipad pro, Apple provides a solid argument for people to buy this year's version of the ipad instead of cheapskating and buying the last year's version.
Can the Galaxy S8, S8+, and the Ultra version convince Android tablet fanatics to do the same, or are the last year's versions (S7 variants, other than S7 FE) still good enough that it's worth a purchase compared to the next year's version?
I've seen some of the S7 tablets go down in price as low as 500$ for the refurbished versions, and $600 for the S7+, USD of course. At those prices, which are probably less than half the price of the S8 series tablets that are coming out soon, it almost makes buying the S7 series a steal, tbh.
So...if the S8 series end up costing over double the price of the S7 series upon their release, what does the consumer get from buying it over the S7 which can do almost the same things as the S8 can do, but then...
it's probably going to cost less than half the price.

Are you still living in 2010 when bluetooth was "laggy"? Christ it's almost like you're trolling for the sake of trolling - whining about the jack which is a niche feature nowadays. go buy a Sony if you want a headphone jack.
Mohammed.althwadi, 16 Dec 2021That fact ur still using 3.5mm is sad as well If you can afford this you can afford good Acc... moreI have a Sennheiser IE 800 which plugs into a 3.5mm jack, and I will not buy a device lacking such a connector. This earplug costs more than most BT wireless earplugs. Surprisingly, the more expensive phones and tablets lack such a connector (exception: Sony), whereas the cheaper lines still provide it. Consumers behave strangely in that they buy a premium-class product with less features instead of just not supporting such a treatment. I have changed my brand from Samsung to Sony, because smartphones from Sony still do have bezels and stereo front speakers, and a 3.5mm jack. Tablets have more space for connectors. That is why I would not even think about buying a tablet without a 3.5mm jack, even if I would not use the connector immediately.
Still missed pen insert on tab. Really hate the outside pen.

Why only a QHD+ resolution with that big a screen? Wonder how the screen is an improvement over S8+ that's likely come with a smaller AMOLED with same resolution.
