Last week Samsung made an under-the-radar announcement for its latest budget Galaxy Tab A-series tablets and now the Tab A9 and Tab A9+ are unveiled in India.
Tab A9 has an 8.7-inch IPS LCD with 800 x 1,340 px resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It’s equipped with a Helio G99 chipset, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is further expandable via the microSD card slot. You also get a 2MP front-facing camera, an 8MP rear module, and a 5,100 mAh battery with 15W charging support.
The larger A9+ gets an 11-inch IPS LCD with a 1,200 x 1,920 px resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a Snapdragon 695 chip at the helm aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable via microSD. Tab A9+ gets a 5MP front-facing cam and the same 8MP rear shooter. It also boasts a larger 7,040 mAh battery with the same 15W charging speeds. Both tablets boot Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1 on top and are available in Wi-Fi only and cellular connectivity options.
The Galaxy Tab A9 series comes in Dark Blue, Grey and Silver colors. Tab A9 starts at INR 12,999 ($156) for the 4/64GB Wi-Fi only trim, while the model with cellular connectivity is INR 15,999 ($192).
Tab A9+ starts at INR 20,999 ($252) for the 8/128GB trim while the cellular model is INR 22,999 ($276). Both tablets are available for pre-order from Amazon India.
In addition to the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9+, Samsung also launched the T9 Portable SSD in India in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. It starts at INR12,799 ($155/€145) and will be sold through Samsung's retail stores, leading consumer electronics stores, and online platforms in the country. FFS, just give me a good mid-range spec 8,5" tablet for 499 $, I can use as a phone : IPS, 2000 x 1200, 90hz refresh rate, 25w fast charging, 6500 mah, stereo speakers, 6GB, 128 GB of storage, headphone jack and micro-sd slot, 4G.
