Had my S8 since early 2018 and still perfectly happy with it with absolutely no plans so be replacing it anytime soon. Battery still great which I put down to putting on charge whenever not actually in use, a strategy I follow with all my portable devices. FWIW 3rd party app Accubattery claims capacity is still 81% of original capacity of 3,000mAh for a combined use life of over 15 hours.
Brilliant phone and sole complaint is when using fingerprint unlock where it's too easy to get marks on the rear camera affecting photos but easily cleaned.
If it broke or I lost it today I'd seriously consider buying another from Amazon where they are still going for €200.

I just buy it with condition lcd crack and 1 green line , I use as primary phone honestly this old model samsung better than new smartphone now , idk why i love old phone , bcause of the size and made with aluminium , Love samsung s8

Still working after 7 years of daily use. It's easy to find good battery replacements, the display is showing signs of burn in and apps don't run smoothly, but otherwise the camera is superb compared to entry level and even some mid level phones.

Got it with a cracked glass but the machine is still balling. It has landed several times on its face without any slight glitch, screen problem or such. Samsung GOAT🐐

Fantastic camera, fantastic screen, great audio output (with a headphone jack), microSD support, and it's usable in one hand.
I've looked at new phones, and see no reason to upgrade. I don't like oversized phones, and they just keep getting bigger and bigger.
The battery is old and needs to be replaced, and the obsolete Android version means it's insecure. I use it like a feature phone and PDA. It's a great camera, offline GPS, dashcam, MP3 and FLAC music player (with audio jack), audio book player, notebook, etc. There's nothing on it to be hacked, so it if somehow did get broken into, I'm not worried about it.
I may upgrade the battery, but other than that, I can't see any reason to go to another phone.

the display and camera are so outta this world for a 7 yr phone .love much its small special design that doest feel cheap at all compared to some big phones as at 2025.its like a trophy ,the battery meeh,everything else is upto great

Pretty nice phone for his prime years, I had this one until April 2022. I still got it in my “storage” and I can use it, but the battery is dead

Came here looking for S8 specs to compare as I begin the journey to my next phone as my beloved 7year old Galaxy S8 is showing signs of wear. Not surprised to read all the good comments about this phone. I dread going to new-fangled S24 or later while the S8 has everything I need. Except ear speaker is gone and battery middle-aged. Its been great not being harrassed with regular updates. S24 doesn't have slot for my 128gb sdCard. Probably other things missing too. 1 step forward 2 steps back... sad emoji
