It is a great phone with good camera and beautiful design
It still hold pubg on 30fps
But the worst thing is the battery
what a beautiful design. Especially the white one.
I had it for around 3 years and its probably the phone with the worst battery I ever had in these 10+ years using Samsung.. I don't know if it was just my phone but the battery didn't last for 5 hours..
this phone was garbage, even for its time, it overheated, was fragile, no microsd slot, and ran slow as hell even on the stock firmware, it really was just a publicly released s7 prototype.
I have been my s6 since 8 years or a bit over 8 years.it was a great experience but recently with old age it's a bit slow and battery life but it's fine .
The galaxy s6 has a built in infared port as well. Thats the reason i owned one
This page needs to be edited, the Galaxy S6's final update was Android 7.0 not 8.0
Very low spec but it lcd too expensive
My mom had a galaxy s6 with android 7.0, but later mom now gave it to me like as a gift
giuseppe, 10 Jan 2025My main phone (Redmi Note 11) died, i was using an Alcatel 1X (2018) until i found my old S6, ... moreit should be usable for like a year or two but android 7 support is starting to dwindle plus a lot of apps aren't optimized well enough for older android versions, especially ones with custom skins on top of the existing os
With the Android 6.0 update, the camera launching while power saving mode is on slowed down significantly. They made that camera app for Android 5.0 and apparently didn't optimize it properly for 6.0.
Anonymous, 07 Nov 2024As of 2024 that's still quite a good phone, oddly. Even thought the borders are creeping me up.My main phone (Redmi Note 11) died, i was using an Alcatel 1X (2018) until i found my old S6, is still usable in 2025?
has a issue with the screen popping off

(indeed, i no longer purchase flagships because of this)
Specification sheets should not just mention the charging speed, but also the charging speed while the screen is on. This is important to know.
On the keynote of the S6 in 2015, the presenter Justin Denison said that he needs fast charging to be able to charge faster at the airport lounge. Unfortunately, the S6 (and several successors thereof) slow down charging to 6 watts while the screen is on, so charging is only fast in stand-by mode or while powered off.
In other words, Justin Denison can't read his emails while charging at the airport.
It took Samsung years to realize that slowing down charging while the screen is on is not a good idea. The more recent Samsungs thankfully maintain the full charging speed while the screen is on. If Samsung's intention was to prevent overheating, how come it even slows down charging when turning on the screen when the battery is cold? Doesn't make sense. This was one of the greatest annoyances back then.
Also, thankfully new smartphones are thicker to house a larger battery. This thin design trend from the mid-2010s was a very bad idea. Smartphone vendors know better now.
Also, flash is disabled under 15% of battery charge because the battery is too weak to power the flash. But wouldn't it make more sense if it only limited the brightness of the flash rather than completely disabling it?
If the battery has enough power for full-brightness flashlight at 16% charge, it should still have enough power for slightly less brightness at 15%.
