Samsung Android

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series comes with a feature called Instant Slow-Mo, which turns a regular video into a slow-mo clip with the help of AI, eliminating the need to record a video in native Slow-Mo mode. A Samsung Community moderator has revealed Instant Slow-Mo will also come to Samsung's older devices.

Samsung will bring Instant Slow-Mo to eight devices, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Basically, devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer chips will get the Instant Slow-Mo since it needs to react in 16.6ms for 60FPS videos, which requires a powerful GPU and NPU.

Samsung's new video editor that supports editing videos to add Instant Slow-Mo effects is also coming to the aforementioned devices. Additionally, the moderator announced that Samsung will improve Instant Slow-Mo by adding support for 10-bit videos, 480p videos, and .mov file format.

The moderator didn't provide any timeframe for the arrival of Instant Slow-Mo on older devices, but we expect it to arrive with the One UI 6.1 update for these phones and tablets.

It has happened before in mi phones. At one point, they used to insert frames in middle to create a smoother slow motion... They created 960 fps from 240 fps or so. When I tested it, it was a fail. Huge amount of misplaced details and colour sme...

it's as useful as an analog camcorder or any other old digital camcorders. 480p just feels like 2000s. where HD is still a luxury. any smartphones can do 480p. only thing missing is stabilization. few camera apps might utilize them.
