S10e is a nice phone that can be competitive for another two years. You have enough time to wait for S22. Or get S20 if impatient. Skip this one, it looks like a total disappointment, at least on paper.
So the lack of SD slot has been confirmed... What the real f..., Samsung!?
I wouldn't want Samsung to go out of business just to keep the competition. But I'll be glad to see how this technological and financial failure leaves Samsung S marketing team without salary/job this year.
Im using s10e after almost 2 years its time to upgrade should i upgrade to s21 ? Leave apert the size of the phone.
remove exynos totally pls.

D1SONE, 29 Dec 2020Who cares. The S20 had unnecessarily high pixel density. So did the s6, s7, s8, s9, s10 and S2... more"Means better battery life"
Yeah sure, compare the s6 with that tiny battery at 1440p with an s20 (even ultra variant) at 1080p.
1080p 60hz definitelly saves battery life, BUT at 120hz... is worse than 1440p. And there IS a difference, I thought the same until I got the s8, the difference is night and day when you read texts. If you play games and watch movies go ahead and use those "120hz". But don't come here saying it is overkill, it wasn't at 5inch, now at almost 7 inch still overkill? Are you that sure? Why all people now need those "120hz"!? The screen makes even more heat now, the cpu AND gpu are pushed to keep a steady 120 frames per second. Why? I was playing all games (and quality ones, not those p2w AAA travesties) at a SOLID 15fps. Now all of a sudden 120hz is the hot trend, is the biggest need in the history!
Grow up people, once this trend ends, there will be another one, and then your beloved "120hz" will be thrown in the bin!
Did I mentioned that all apps and games MUST support 120hz mode?
The only thing worrying me is that 1080p/120hz screen from s21 is the same screen from s20fe, and have the same ghost touch issue. 🙄

Depending on the price, quality of plastic back and Exynos performance this may be a very solid device.
(all further based on S20)
"Zoom" sensor covers for lack of "optical" zoom with it's huge size and resolution. If you crop it down to the size used by other flagships you'll get around 16MP with 2.0x zoom level (Yes, many other zoom cameras achieve around 50-80% of their zoom capabilities by just throwing a tiny sensor into the phone, so essentially S20/S21 just gives you that "zoomed" image and quite a lot of outside of it).
The biggest problem with zoom is 12MP computed output you get at any zoom level. This undermines usability of 64MP quite a lot.
There is a 64MP shooting mode, but it just gives 64MP computed image in the 1-6x zoom range. Samsung seems to be hell-bent on not giving users true crop from that sensor. But I think in 64MP mode at 1.0x zoom you'll get the image as it is pixel-to-pixel and then will have to manually crop it down to "zoom" into the frame. Hardly a user-friendly approach, but it should work. Gonna check this out in the store before purchasing when S21 will come out.
Alex, 30 Dec 2020Easy, man, it's not nice telling people that they deserve 1.1x zoom.Wow, I totally forgot about that, I feel bad now :(

If you had 1440p from s6 since now , cutting to 1080 on a flagship device is a extemly bad choice . I understand 1080 on a mid range , but not a flagship . If s21 will have lower specs thans s20 it is a big problem .S20 has 1440 60hz . 1080 120 hz . S21 should have 1440p 120hz.

Nonsense is to say that it's nonsense to suspect that those posts are paid. Same goes for my posts. But I'll tell you that:
I'm a sucker for big brands, I'm not going with any Chinese brand in the foreseen future. I'll choose a phone from any renown brand that will provide best quality and value.
This is my choice. But I accept yours, your passion for this phone because
- You consider plastic to be premium material;
- You don't need 1440p resolution;
- You don't need telephoto.
Deal.
Anonymous, 30 Dec 2020I hope Samsung makes an S21E, that would be awesome.It is an "E" version: plastic back, low res screen, no real telephoto. What else would you cut on?

430-440 PPI is more than enough, thats what the phone will have. Going over this is nonsense, you dont notice a higher resolution unless you place your eyes an inch off the screen, which is ridiculous and not a normal usage.
Since when glass is a premium material then? Its quite cheap, and very very fragile. Ceramic is almost like glass (fragile), but heavier and more expensive, not a good option. Metal is also not an option due to weight and due to wireless charging.
The build quality will be great because the previous 5-6 models have been great in this. Wanna bet?
Before throwing the toys out of the pram, wait and see the in depth reviews.
