Samsung Galaxy J8+ hits Geekbench with Snapdragon 625
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is back at Geekbench, but this time with a different chipset. A couple of weeks ago we saw it with an Exynos 7870 chipset at its heart (that was the SM-J800FN version), now there’s a Snapdragon 625 there (this is the SM-J805G version).
This could be a “Plus” model, Galaxy J8+, with a slightly faster chipset and more memory. Both versions of the phone ran Android 8.0 Oreo.
This J805G model has 4GB of RAM while the previous model we saw had 3GB. Both chipsets have octa-core Cortex-A53 processor but are clocked differently – 1.8GHz vs. 1.6GHz in favor of the Galaxy J8+.
Even so, the performance is essentially the same:

We suspect that the storage will be different too with the appropriate increase in price. It remains to be seen if there will be a non-Plus version (J800) with a Snapdragon chipset or not.
That aside, the FN version will likely be available in Europe, Asia and the Middle East while the G version is probably headed to South America and parts of Asia.

I really doubt if samsung team has thinktank with them..I know SD625 is capable enough but selling it for $200 would be bad idea nowadays

These scores match the SD450, not 625. Furthermore SD450 has eight Cortex A53 cores at 1.8GHz. SD625 has them running at 2.0GHz. Compare the scores of this and the Mi A1 or the Moto G5S Plus AND you'll see.

Those scores are awfully low (by 10-14%) for a S625 based phone, and simultaneously too similar to the 7870 ones.
