I installed custom rom on a50 and now it's on One UI 6.1 Android 14 and it made my a50 look new again. One thing i like about is that i can now capture 1080p@120fps video which the previous one ui 3.1 don't have.
You can check and install it if you wanna, it's on XDA.

for me A50 better than A51 i have two A50 and one A51 + use Custom ROM 😁

Well. The phone is outdated, like 4-5 years.
6GB of ram + Super AMOLED - is the only upsided.
Cameras:
Wide is good, 25mp is a gimmick, just upscaled 12mp. ISO1600 is highest. 1/10 is the slowest possible shutter speeds, which is not so good. HDR - kinda ok. Optical stab +++.
Ultra-Wide is NOT THAT bad. No auto-focus, no stab, bad at low-light.
Good phone for daily basics, don't expect it to run like iPhone, but ANYWAY, if you find it in decent condition and small price - it's a good choice ever for 2025. Bad for gaming, but good for internet surfing and some normal usage.
I'll rate cameras as 5/10, slow-mo is awful 720p my SGS4 does it smoother back then.

AnTuTu (v7) score for a50 = 144574
And v10.5.1 being the latest version of AnTuTu, it's 230132 when power saving mode is off and 224659 when power saving mode is on. What do you guys think? Is A50 still great?

Been using this phone for almost 6 years now.. still doing great, never had any major problem. though battery life is not doing good now, but thats natural after using if for that long. Will replace it soon with A55. would have considered A56 but not having a micro sd slot on top of no 512GB options makes it a no brainer.

I have been using Samsung A50 6GB variant and I must say it has an excellent durability. Even after 7years of use, the phone is still in perfect working condition. No issues observed apart from the battery capacity has reduced to 6-7hours with medium usage. The security updates from Samsung have stopped in January 2024.

Mine works still fine even after 5 years lol. Fingerprint sensor got better after the last update.
