Also adding 5G to the equation should make sense on 2025, I guess.
Awesome lil smartphone,I still have it and it is awesome.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2025I'm selling mine, because parts are horribly expensive,(battery) 20-60 $. eMMC 5.1 is too... moreIt is not about budget but about size and weight. You can not find phone with such a small size nowadays, it is so comfortable to use it with one hand and fits easily in a pocket. Other important features other phones dont have is dual SIM+ SD card at the same time (great for frequent travellers). FM radio is nice to have at places with no data coverage as well. Nowadays phones are such a bricks (huge and heavy). It wish they make new midrange phone with such a size and weight and features.
Wow, this phone didn't age well at all, It sucks seeing this phone in such a bad state now cause in 2020 this was the best phone I had
in real life the phone haves 2940mAh, not 3100, which explains the faster draining of the battery and the assembly quality was odd. when i bought it in 2019 from a mobile carrier store and i was able to hear something shaking inside like sand. in the next 6 months the USB port and display started acting weird till both failed. i went to service with it and i found out that the battery was not tightly fixed to the phone and thats what i heard shaking this whole time. the battery movement broke the wire connectors battery>usb port and battery>display
i use it as a backup phone, battery drains very fast and cant handle any game anymore (honestly i think its just my cpu fried) but it was great back then.
Had this phone for 3 years and still use it as a backup phone, i had great memories with it.
one of the worst phone, not even worth of 20000

To pr... moreI'm selling mine, because parts are horribly expensive,(battery) 20-60 $. eMMC 5.1 is too slow, battery drains kinda fast at 80% health, I used AccuBattery. 100$ phone in today money is better than A40 4 times faster easy. Better battery capacity 5000mAh, better storage speed UFS 2.1 minimum, 128-256 GB.( I don't recommend 128GB unless you have a tight budget.
So here is a list to choose from https://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nPriceMax=200&nCPUCoresMin=8&nRamMin=8000&nDisplayResMin=921600&nDisplayDensityMin=200&nBatCapacityMin=5000&idOS=2&idOSVersion=2930&nOrder=1

Pragmatic, 18 Dec 2024Why are you still rocking it 😂The A40 still has a huge marketshare, especially in developing countries like India as an example.
This is a good device. It was a budget device in 2019, but, it is still pretty useful in 2025, especially if you take your time to unlock the bootloader and install a newer android version on it. I installed oneui 6.1 on it just to try it out (i have another phone which is my daily driver), and i end up just leaving it installed on it just because it works this well. Don't get me wrong, this is not a speed demon, but it isn't unuseable eather! The exynos 7904 is not bad, it doesn't overheat (at least on my device with the chosen rom), 4gb of ram is a bit on the low end, but a lot of budget devices today still have 4gb of ram, so it doesn't really matter at all. My battery seems to be like new even though it is already 6 years old, which is impressive! I get a full day out of it with calls, texting, browsing and social media stuff. Do i recommend you go out and buy 1? Well, it depends, if it is in a like new condition and you just need something now and you find 1 for 30 bucks? Heck yeah go for it! But if you plan to buy it refurbished from a company or so, i would say get something more recent. The only 3 things this A40 has going for it, is 1, obviously the gorgeous full hd amoled panel, 2nd this phone has an sd card slot and 3th, it has a headphone jack, no dongles needed if you still rock headphones with a cable.

Phone keeps showing overheating even when it's not hot. I've formatted it twice and changed power IC yet, nothing. I don't know what seems to be the problem

Samsung should revive the A40's small form factor. It makes sense for a cheap phone to be small in size. Especially now that Asus Zenfone 10 was the last small phone.
Nobody should be forced to pay extra for the base S24 just to get a small phone. Please make an S25e that is reminiscent of the iPhone 12 13 Mini.
