Samsung Android Rumors

Samsung released the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy A16 5G last month, and it has now begun testing the Android 17-based One UI 9 for the smartphone.

The One UI 9 build for the Galaxy A16 5G spotted on Samsung's server has firmware version A166BXXU8EZF1 and is being tested for the European market. However, don't expect the smartphone to receive One UI 9 beta or stable update anytime soon, as Samsung has already rolled out One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series, which is likely to receive the stable update first.

Besides, Samsung previously said that its upcoming folding smartphones will be the first to run One UI 9 out of the box. Samsung is expected to unveil three folding smartphones this year - the Galaxy Z Flip8, the Galaxy Z Fold8, and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Rumors claim they will be unveiled on July 22 at an event in London.

Circling back to the One UI 9 test, Samsung is also working on One UI 9 for the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy A17 5G, the Galaxy A34, the Galaxy A57, and the unannounced Galaxy S26 FE.

That's why they should buy only flagship. Once you buy a flagship you can use it five years or more. Unless you drop your phone a lot or you are a heavy gamer it will last longer than any low end phone or midrange phone.
