Introduction

The entry-level Galaxy phones are usually launched in 4G and 5G versions, and the latest Galaxy A15 is no different. The new Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is an identical twin to the Galaxy A15 4G, but one that has access to 5G networks.

The Galaxy A15 5G employs the same 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen of 1080p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It features the same triple camera on the back - a 50MP primary, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. Even the selfie shooter remains the same - a 13MP imager with 1080p video capturing.

The 5G version is powered by an identical 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

The only difference between the Galaxy A15 4G and the Galaxy A15 5G is the chipset - Helio G99 vs. Dimensity 6100+ 5G. And it is only found in the modem, as the processor, the GPU and the storage options remain the same.

The Galaxy A15 5G is a well-connected phone with Wi-Fi 5 support, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and it also comes with a 3.5mm jack and a microSD slot - features that are almost extinct.

Splash resistance is the only thing we wish was added. Many other similarly entry-level phones from Xiaomi and Motorola offer such basic ingress protection, and the Galaxy A1x deserves such treatment as well.

Unboxing the Galaxy A15 5G

The Galaxy A15 5G ships inside a thin white box that contains the phone itself and a 3A-rated USB-C cable.

There is no charger inside, nor is there a screen protector.

Probably the worst phone I have ever had. Motorola's are much better for the money. It does crazy stuff all the time. Starts playing music or videos while in pocket. Continues playing videos after closing apps when not in pocket. The only way to...

He's right, I was there, 20 years ago.. Actually, when Alexander Graham Balls first came up with the concept of the telephone, one of the first comments he mentioned was that this phone is going to suck balls.. 😏
