Samsung Battery AI to improve Galaxy S25's longevity by 10%

Samsung Android Rumors

Samsung has been riding the AI buzzword high horse a lot since January, and it apparently has no intention of stopping. Quite the contrary, in fact, it looks like the company is planning on spreading AI to as many parts as possible, including the batteries in its next series of flagships.

According to a new report, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will ship with "Battery AI". This will magically extend the longevity of their batteries by up to 10%, somehow.

Samsung Battery AI to improve Galaxy S25's longevity by 10%

Chinese competitors have generally extended the longevity of their respective Galaxy S competitors this year by simply fitting a ~10% larger battery, but that's too simple for Samsung (and means it can't AI-ify yet another part of the phone). So in lieu of an actual battery capacity increase, Samsung will be giving us AI, to compensate.

Whether or not it does is beside the point - why not fit a 5,500 mAh cell in the S25 Ultra, for example, and at the same time employ this magical Battery AI on top of that? It's a question that probably won't get an answer, but we had to ask it anyway.

Today's rumor goes on to mention that Battery AI will eliminate non-essential tasks to increase the overall runtime without affecting the phone's performance. So it won't be downclocking the CPU and GPU, presumably, which is good news. Further details about it aren't available yet.

"Battery AI" doesn't exist. It's just a marketing term. More than likely, what they're calling "Battery AI" will be software or hardware that will intentionally throttle battery usage so that it will last longe...
