About sound quality, i used some good headphones on it, i compared it to Soundblaster X-Fi HD, and i must say, this device has VERY GOOD sound, i tested lot of phones, most of them have crap output. Bass control is great, you give more bass, and it dont turn down other tones.
Used HD555(mod), 50Ohm, 15hz-28000Hz, open headphones, phone can make them play loud.
I know, this is almost antic model, but still can be used :D

Its summer 2012 and my milestone is still in mint condition, bought i in summer 2010. Talking about build quality!
Its currently running Android 2.3.7 (CM7.2.2) and the CPU is running at 1Ghz for over an year now, still no problems. The camera has improved a lot since this review. It still shoots 480p but with widescreen format 812x480. The only disadvantage over current gen midrange phones is the 256mb of ram, however the screen is still hard to match by todays WVGA 3.7" phones.

This phone is a pile of shit I have had mine for a little over a year now and everything was okay and the first problem I had was the charger wouldn't charge it unless it was in a certain position second problem I had was the power button didnt work anymore so I always had to have a charger and now it just froze and theres nothing you can do with it so these phones suck and they all deserve to be shaddered into a million pieces!!!

Gsmarena,how can you say that milestone's audio output isn't very goood,when in fact is almost identical with the iphone 3gs's audio output.Milestone still is the one of the best android phones anyway

Crap phone; and bad repair service. Had to send it in twice to get repaired (audio jack and reception problems) and both times they sent it back saying they hadn't found anything.
This despite the fact that I can't use it to call business contacts cause they say they can't understand me due to choppiness. Also my girlfriend doesn't want to talk with me on it cause it annoys her. Really, really disappointed, I paid $300 (deal plan).
The HTC Hero loaner they gave me while being repaired was 10 times better (though less functionality and annoyingly small screen keyboard).

I think all platform has their bad point;
1) Nokia symbian ... touch screen issue, perhaps N8 will change the story
2) iPhone ... no multi-task & no camera flash, hope version 4.0 & new iPhone will address the issue
3) Android ... application cannot store in memory card, wish 2.2 will solve the issue or any manufacturer can come out a 8GB or larger device

At this point of time Milestone is one of the best phone running Android.
X10 == no multi-touch even upgrade to 2.1 in future
Galaxy Spica == no camera flash
Legend == camera auto-focus not consistent
Nexus One == no physical keypad

got this phone for a weeks, and i think milestone is a very great phone. but there is still a minor in this phone.
the internal storage is too small to install apps, the 8GB SD card is useless since we cannot save the apps in there.
D-pad, at first i thought it is a track pad, unfortunately it isn't :p
not @ the phone, but the hands free is so bad, got a noise when i used it to make a call or to play music.
can't sync to microsoft outlook!!! we should sync with gmail or googlemail to import contacts from other phone, and lately i found that we can import from facebook either, it's a little strange i think. or this is android problems? does anybody have a solution to sync with outlook??
but overall, this is a great phone, i'll rate this phone 8/10.
