The only real advantage of the pixel 9a is the size. I dont know a single person who owns a phone bigger than 6,4" and they ALL want to size DOWN....we are not a huge market over here in Germany, but most people I see rock the smallest versions of Apple, Samsung or Google for 1 reason alone: size.

I think for the first time I have to disagree with GSMArena battery life review. It’s not believable that Pixel 9a battery life is inferior to Pixel 9 and 9 Pro because many have commented that its battery life is insane and hard to kill etc on Reddit and YouTube.

In US/CA, it's the opposite. Some (usually when next release arrives) sales, and galaxys will be expensive here.
if price doesn't matter then pick what your gut tells. same krappy proc, better build and reliability on samsung but some better pics main cam on pixel. OS i prefer samsung, less bloat, and also more deactivable ent configurat ion(it used to be, not sure it's still possible though, as enshytification is a real plague in this day and age

Victus among others , it really improved. a56 main camera not the best but pixel 9A only excel in good condition . Everywhere else it struggles, noisy burn wash out zoom...
Pixel has also the worst standard repair and battery wear in EU standards.
Also about battery and cheapo build, I suggest to watch Jerryrig on pixel 9A as an example....
So I can't agree less.
Just pixel and brand and funky colors probably bidding all the krap inside ( and the worst os about spyware we all know no not even need talk of that - you can't even disable the search bar, hard coded in the launch, on purpose obviously....)
As I say often, googo should pay you for a pixel considering all their spy-bloat. I'd feel skamed to pay more than 100 for that cheapo spyi thing.

It's 'ever been good and it'll never be.
It's improving , hopefully.
Maybe in 200 years they'll be on par with unisoc at least.

I am currently using an iPhone 13 which I bought about 2 years ago. I got bored of it because in the last 8 years I only had iPhones.
Decided to try the android side,I initially bought a Samsung galaxy a56 from eBay with 250£ new,sealed here in UK. This is the correct price I think for this phone ,not 400£ which is the official price I think.
Although it's not a bad phone, the ONE UI still doesn't impress me at all. It's nothing smooth about it. Another thing that I didn't like was that it's a big phone.
Sold that one and bought a pixel 9a new, sealed for 330£. Now this is a different story with this phone. Everything is smooth,the bezels are uniform and I am not bothered that they are a little bit thicker than my iPhone. The haptics are much better, overall it just works better. I would say the experience is more similar to an iOS.
I didn't tested the cameras because I am not a heavy camera user.
So as a conclusion if you are struggling to decide between pixel 9a and galaxy a56, I would suggest to go for the pixel.

THICK BEZEL and somehow 100% like Samsung S23-S25 series and iPhone 13-16 lineup designs. 99% design of smartphones today is copying iPhone deisgn, so boring, no more inisiative from developers

They should even gi... moreI believe spyware can be removed with something called grapheneos and calyxos, don't need to root a full to have a full os that you own. I recommend all the pixel 8 and 9, I don't use face id or anything just a password. Security is what I look for in a phone. Google pixels and iphones have a lot better security then samsung phones. Camera, I don't use because I have a camera that has an sd card, like a real camera imagine that a camera that isn't a phone camera. Battery life is what I find most important. I don't know if these test were done on debloated or stock, but I am going to guess it's stock android. I would also like to add you have a lower chance of breaking the camera or back of the phone because of how flat it is. Personally I think this phone is good enough for my needs. But I want to see the pixel 10 and higher versions come out. 5 years is very good phone support. I have the iPhone 13 mini, so literally all these phones are a big upgrade vs what I have currently. Battery is the worse part about my current phone.

I wonder what is the reviewer smoking to compare pixel 9a with a poco x7 pro, Nothing phone 3a pro or the redmi note 14 pro+. These phones are significantly worse. Their software support is trash.
In my opinion the pixel 9a offers the most bang for your buck in this price range

Chinophones, what's those expensive pieceofsh.t with their call-home big brother is watching you software, they are not even cheap.
So yeah greeedy Samsung is taking over unfortunately ..

Marketing, brand, pretending nice picture maybe. We have all fallen in the trap.
And they are not even cheap, despite Buggy ( both hardware and software bugs) and spycrapware ( but might be rootable to do a huge clean up )

Guilty is proc. Tensor design is bad , AI tile came from old tech server heating lot of watts.
Then Samsung exoshyte proc makes things even worse.
And probably bad thermal management ( my experience with 6A), bad design, bad screen. Bad overall ...

Expensive crap. Maybe 300 and not more.
All those spyi bloated android. They should even give me money tu use that phone, given the gigabytes of private data they collect without consent. We are sheep. i tell you, we are sheep.
Camera is good but there's always this '2d' sharpening effect I don't like . Also colors sometimes artificial. Overall look good to me especially portrait.
Maybe next year for pixel 10a, if proc made by TSMC and still rootable to debloat that big pile of crapware.
