POLARIS, 12 Aug 2025Who in their right mind bothers to install a custom ROM on a tablet... Pad 7 should have come ... mored'you mean the Pro Model? The Normal Version Has 4, also the Redmi Pad 2 may be limited to future HyperOS features for tablets, but I'd agree of waiting till 2025's Halloween! so we get a better Snapdragon, maybe 8s Gen 1?

Pad 7 should have come with at least 4-5 years of updates, and the fact that it gets only 2 meanwhile the Redmi Pad 2 will get 7 years suggest that users should skip this generation and go for Pad 8 which will hopefully feature a not so laughable software longevity.

Unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM, you will still be able to install the latest Android version even after 8 years, better than what flagships today offer

Even, my RN8P is still working as well except the display is replaced with non authentic one since broken (dropped). Now retired for performance wise.

I have a fairly big family, most of them using Xiaomi, generally they're working fine for years (3+).

the refresh rate problems is really annoying. u need to go into developer options and find a setting that says "didbale limiting game frame rate to 60hz* and then if our want it to run at 144hz u need to turn off system optimization in developer setting

The 3 major downsides of Xiaomi pad 7 :

                  1. Lack of Gorilla Glass protection
                  2. Lack of Fingerprint scanner.
                  3. Aspect ratio of 3:2 ( Better for gaming but not for movies)

The performance and price seem decent at first glance, but let me tell you, there are some seriously frustrating issues! First off, so many crucial apps like Amazon just don't support this device! And good luck with keyboard shortcuts; every time I want to use Ctrl, Shift, or Alt, I end up typing twice—what a pain! It's a complete waste of time and effort! And don't even get me started on the keyboard layout; it covers half the screen! I can't see what I'm typing at all, making a total mess of everything. What was I thinking buying this? I should have just gone for an Apple iPad instead. Seriously, think twice before you make the same mistake I did!

I think Xiaomi pad 6 still better than Xiaomi pad 7. Xiaomi pad 7 added some new features, but I am doubt about its overall built quality. We have to wait 6-12 months for more reviews.

I honestly wouldn't recommend Xiaomi products, they are the manufacturers with the most planned obsolescence. I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, it turned off out of the blue in just two years, the card had been damaged. My friend bought some new Redmi Buds 4 Pro, out of the blue they sound very low, one more than the other, she had to buy others. I don't recommend Xiaomi because of my bad experience in general.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2025Calling apple & samsung as "reliable" is a joke. Apple already screwed iphone us... moreAlso add realme, pixel, asus , oneplus and all the rest of them e-trash producers to your list.

The only good ones is xiaomi, Motorola, Sony and a few others. I kind of like those rugged ulefones with flir thermal sensor. All phones should have flir infrared sensor.

If you know any other good ones let me know!

Ammarovic, 02 Feb 2025You will end up going back due to its horrible life span. Why? Because lithium battery dies after 2 years of heavy use? That's normal and all lithium batteries have this problem. Just open the back panel and replace the battery with a new one and enjoy the phone for another 2 years. I don't see any problem.
